Challenge for Jason Mueller

Post by Sen. Estes Kefauver (D-TN) »

Jason, once this year I want to play against you. I don't want to play you for the love of competition, or that crap.

I want to play a match of 40 tossups, using upper-tier, high quality, pyramidal high school tossups. I want to play you, and if I win, I want you to have the everlasting shame of being a post-graduate (who should have mastered the high school canon long ago) who is an arrogant prick losing to a high school junior. If I lose, big whoop, I'm a high schooler, but if I win, I think many on this board will laugh with joyous shrieks to see your ego be deflated yet again.

I would bet you money, but considering you don't have a car I doubt you could afford to lose.

Anyone willing to furnish the tossups?

Awaiting yor response, Jason.

Ground floor of what promises to be the greatest thread ever.

Edit: Also, as this isn't actually a tournament announcement, I'm moving it to AHAN Jr. where it belongs.

Just in case Mueller doesn't respond to this throwing down of the proverbial quizbowl gauntlet, I am opening this thread to general qb-related trash-talking and dick-waving.

I have an MBOX with Protools that I guarantee will be used. I wouldn't let this go without recording it.

I think tossups from the upcoming Illinois Novice set will be appropriate for this. Mike, what say you?

Will this be a chatroom match or will this be in person in Columbia? (Unfortunately, CBI Nationals is the same weekend as the MO High School Championship, so we can't play that weekend.)

I want it in person. Would you be able to get your ass to Lexington on March 24th?

Unfortunately, my ass stays in Columbia (except for Spring Break where I'll be back home in Lincoln). It's kind of hard to go places when you don't have a car.

See, if you actually had friends, it would be easy to hitch a ride or borrow their car.
Since I do have friends, I'll see if someone can drive me.

Next pussy challenge is to attend a real event like ACF Nats or CO or something. Thats after you get your ass handed to you by a HSer of course.

I'm sure that us poor college/graduate students can come together and raise enough money to send this kid to Missouri.

hoooo schnaps... I have never met you, Charles, but you have definitely just become one of my favorite people.... I hope this goes down soon ... I´m very interested to see it (if it is March 24th at Lexington... I might be able to make it as I will be in KC for a concert).

Come to think of it, there are a few people I'd like to play that I've never had the opportunity to compete against: Jason Loy, Melissa McCush, Mike Wehrman, Ken Jennings, Matt Weiner (unless you played at CO 2002 or you count the occasional Yahoo chat practice), and a lot of other people. I'm not predicting anything nor am I calling anyone out; I'd just like the fun and challenge of playing some skilled players I have not played against yet.

http://z4.invisionfree.com/Academic_Com ... topic=1405 So far I'm winning the poll. Damn.
EDIT- It should be noted that Jason is the only person to vote "Jason by a lot."

I believe the conditions now call for Jason to shut the hell up during nationals and for the week directly following the match should he lose. Let's be clear about this too: The week starts one second after the match is over, so absolutely no posting about how you got lamed by the questions or there weren't enough chairs to throw for 7 whole days.

If he loses and refuses to cease posting when he's supposed to, I'll be more than happy to change anything he posts to "I LOST AT QUIZBOWL TO A HIGH SCHOOLER"

That's why I love my position in this. I have nothing to lose except the match. We also have the questions set up. All we need's a date and time. It seems like we've an interested local audience, too.

To answer my own question, my vote goes to Mike Sorice.

To further humiliate Jason, should there be a chair-throwing contest held after he loses?

:w-hat:

Are we going by how far the chair goes, or the aesthetic form of chair-throwing by the contestants (will the Russian judge actually give a 10?)

As I said on the MO board, the 24th doesn't work as that's during Mizzou's Spring Break and I'll be at home during that time.
