How many tournaments (college and HS) are y'all planning on hosting this year? Seems like an ambitious schedule so far for a fairly new program. (Nothing wrong with that of course!)

We plan on hosting Ragnarok this weekend, followed by Titanomachy in October, and a CC tournament called "Admiral Ackbar" in December. In the spring we plan on hosting a PACE high-school tournament, along with the Alabama NAQT High-School State Championship. We have also submitted bids to host NAQT Sectionals and ACF Regionals, but we have no idea if we will be awarded those. We have fairly strong backing from our administration, but it has been made clear to us that we need to present ourselves as a functioning organization that does more than take money from the school to go play quizbowl.

Funny, your red-headed stepchild of a university gets absolutely no backing, at all.

Typical of Tuscaloosa-ites  (j/k).

UAB does not support quizbowl, and won't for lack of funds (I've asked). Same goes for a whole lot of things when it comes to the relationship between UAB and UA (e.g. Jimbo Fisher, subsidization of UAT with medical school and hospital income).

We would almost certainly come if we weren't hosting ABC that weekend, but alas, it looks like we'll start out 0/2 in attending your tournaments. It's too bad, but hopefully we can get there next time.

Ok, We're a little less than a month away and thus far we have a very small field, which I'm sure shall grow over the weeks.

Alabama (2 teams)
Tulane (1-2)

We're leaving for this tomorrow morning and still haven't heard when/where to register as well as if it's even going to happen. Since email hasn't gotten a response, perhaps a post here might...

If they don't respond, I would guess Alston Hall, Room 30...that's where "Ragnarok" was, at least.

Brief Results:
1. UGA
2. Alabama A
3. Tulane
4. Alabama B

Top individuals:
1. Chris UGA
2. JT Bama A
3. Jon UGA
4. James Bama A
5. Steven UGA

It was a fun, albeit small tournament. At least the early finish allowed us to watch the second half of the cocktail party...

I'm sure the 'Bama people will be along with full stats soon.

Hey guys, here are the results. Sorry for the latness, esp. considering the field size. We were waiting b/c the stats were on a teamates pc who was hard to get a hold of. Also, we were missing one stat sheet, which we did not find. Anyways, here are the results.
