This email is announcing the Canadian TRASH Regionals at Brock University on Saturday, November 10, 2007.

Pricing Structure:

First team: $90
Second team: $80
Third team: $70
Fourth team and beyond: $65, with a $5 discount per team until $50

Discounts:

Dedicated staff: -$15 per staff member
Working buzzers: -$10 per set
Has not played TRASH Regionals before: $50 minimum Minimum cost: $50 per team

I will accept American dollars at par with Canadian dollars.

Hotels: As per previous years, I'm going to suggest the Knights Inn St. Catharines (http://www.knightsinn-stcatharines.ca/ ) – room rates for 2 double beds are $89 a night. Additionally, there are numerous hotels in Niagara Falls, a 20 minute drive from Brock's campus.

An additional perk for American teams: The legal drinking age in Ontario is 19.

14 teams competed at Brock today in the Canadian TRASH Regionals; "Pitt Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" ended up on top with a 10-1 record, defeating "Team Soviet Canuckistan" (University of Toronto) in the final game (Canuckistan finished 9-2). "Sssh! You'll Wake The Baby!" from Rochester came 8-3 to place 3rd.

"Kilgore Trout" from "Sssh! You'll Wake The Baby!" won the scoring title (65 PPG), followed by "Rexford Tugwell" (Pitt Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, 60 PPG), George Flevares (St. John McBrockchester, 48.64 PPG), Bobby Hsu (1 000 000 People That Hate Abe Lincoln - University of Toronto, top Canadian at 36.82 PPG), and "Alexi Lalas" (The Ginger Alliance, 35.45 PPG).

Ari Doumouras from "No Jays Allowed" (McMaster) claimed the neg-5 prize with 16 negs in 11 games, winning the tiebreaker over teammate Victor Ferreira by having fewer tossups answered (23 to Victor's 30).
