Larissa Kelly Cleans Up on Jeopardy!

Post by sobek27 »

Not sure where to post this, or if there is a spot at all to:

Congratulations to Larissa Kelly. As of tonight, she is now a 6-time Jeopardy champion, with winnings over $222K. This makes her the # 3 Jeopardy winner (tournaments excluded), behind Ken Jennings and Dave Madden.

I played against Larissa as well as her husband Jeff Hoppes at Princeton around the year 2000. They were both extremely nice people, and I'm happy to see Larissa doing well.

P.S. Congrats to the MAQT as well for taking their first top-level national title in 27 years! The spitoon can finally be buried!

Wow I didn't know that she was involved in quizbowl, much less Jeff Hoppes' wife. Congrats to her.

And Adam, we have your copy of An Incomplete Education to thank for Larissa running the category in Opera the other night...

Guess this is the best place to post congrats. Last night's game, coming back in Double Jeopardy with both Daily Doubles gone to retake the lead was one of the more exciting games I'd seen in a while.

Larissa ended her run yesterday, with a total of $224,500, third most ever and highest among women contestants. Outstanding work!

I really liked Larissa. She seemed completely humble while maintaining an astounding bank of knowledge. The only thing I can think of as an offering of congratulations comes from the Spice Girls- "Girl Power!"
