T-Party Mirror at UA?

Post by acmagee »

Would there be any interest in the University of Alabama hosting a mirror of Harvard's T-Party on December 6? It would be optional packet submission, for a discount. That's all the details I have at this point, seeing as how this is currently only an idea.

Florida State would definitely send a team.

Finals week for my ever-depleted team. Probably not going to happen for us.

I'm guessing this won't actually matter for too many people, but is that the day of trash masters? Given the field of that tournament recently, I think a mirror of T Party could theoretically work well that day, though, and I'll certainly encourage Vandy people to go if this happens.

I know UGA would go since it's not like they'll have a SEC Championship Game to go to instead.

We're planning on hosting our high school tournament on that day unfortunately.

If we'd have heard a little sooner Tulane might have sent a team, but finals are the following week and we're already planning to send a team to UTC for their trash tournament the same day.

You scheduled your high school tournament on the day of the SEC Championship? Geez, even we avoided that day in scheduling back in August, just in case...

Greg Peterson is hosting his mirror on a Sunday. Do you think that you could do the same and/or that it'd work well with the trash tournament and high school tournament conflicts?

We could do that. Would that change anyone's response?

I'd have to talk to my teammates, but I'd definitely be up for taking Saturday night to drive to Tuscaloosa (which is, quite conveniently, halfway between Chattanooga and New Orleans) and attending your mirror on the 7th. And then you Bama people could enjoy watching He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named lead his team against Florida in the SEC title game on Saturday night.

Fixed, in a mostly wishful manner (up until the debacle against MSU, it was only semi-wishful...) Anyway, at that time of year, I doubt the day would affect Vandy's attendance. I think finals probably start the following Thursday, so if they would go on Sat, they'd prob go on Sunday since there are only a couple days of classes left afterward.

MSU has a women's basketball game on Sun, Dec. 7, but I think I could miss one for quiz bowl. Sunday works fine.
