I am pleased to announce that Missouri S&T will host the tenth installation of Rollapalooza on February 14, 2009.

Questions:
We will be running a mirror of the Cardinal Classic, a packet submission tournament hosted by Stanford with question difficulty approximating that of ACF Regionals 2008 (see this thread for more info). Teams attending our mirror will not be required to submit packets, though if you want to write a packet we will give you a discount - get in touch with me about this and we'll work something out.

Fee structure:
Base fee for 1st team from school: $100
Base fee for 2nd and subsequent teams from school: $90
Buzzer Discount: -$10 per fully-functional system (max 2 per team)
Distance Discount: -$10 per team if traveling for 300 miles or greater
Minimum fee per team: $50

Oh no. Mizzou can't come to this then, we already bought our tickets to Stanford.

Also... isn't this NAQT State? As in the NAQT state tournament the you are hosting?

We have enough people committed to helping that it won't be an issue to run both events simultaneously.

Will you have enough moderators to mirror the science non-strosity? I hope so because that sounds awesome.

Put Oklahoma State down for 2 teams. If this changes, I'll let you know.

Update:

Due to a problem with our room reservations and other issues, we have agreed to swap dates with the Hoosier Open at Indiana. This tournament will now be held on February 14, the same date as the main Cardinal Classic site and the other mirrors, rather than the 21st as originally announced.

Last I knew Carleton was likely to send a team to this, and, if I remember correctly, the new date should only help those who might not have been able to make it.

Alright, scratch that. We may send one team or no one at this point.

Tulsa should be there with one team, no buzzers, and possibly one moderator.

Put us down for one or two teams.

We'd like to come to this, but it's on the chopping block because of budget issues. Sorry, and I hope you all have a good tournament.

We're probably going to bring at least two teams. Is there a field update?

Please let me know if there is interest among participating teams in mirroring the Science Non-Strosity, and if so, to whom I should send the questions.

I'll check to see whether we have enough interest to run the Science Non-Strosity in the update email I'm preparing to send.

Subtract Truman State's (1) and just add me in as a free agent.

If any team that isn't full wants another player, I would be willing to make the drive down on my own and contribute equally to the registration cost.

I guess we never contacted you. Illinois is intersted in bringing one team (which may unfortunately consist only of me.) We can bring you several buzzer systems.
Also, I'm keenly interested in Science Nonstrosity. Perhaps we could order something in and play rounds over lunch?

Yeah, I like this idea. I think we can make this happen.

Agreed... lunch breaks are not necessary... science is though.
