ICT DII opening FILLED (Thank you, Minnesota)

Post by Important Bird Area » Thu Apr 02, 2009 6:28 pm

A few hours after Valencia B signed on, Grinnell just now dropped out.

We once again have a Division II opening that we need to fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Are you interested? If so, please write to me: jthoppes [at] berkeley.edu; cc to ict [at] naqt.com.

Quick ground rules:
*- this team would play for free
*- it would have to consist entirely of DII eligible players from the same school, to whom the rules for future eligibility (seen at http://www.naqt.com/college/division-ii.html) would still apply.
*- although we'd rather not lose any ICT staff if we can avoid it, we'll do what it takes for Division II to have 32 real teams (and won't renege on any staff discounts even if a replacement team includes people who would've read/scorekept)

Edit: this vacancy has been filled; we will have 64 teams playing ICT in Dallas tonight. Thanks, Gautam!

Just to confirm, this is identical to the 2003 UCLA situation, only publicly announced so all community members are aware of it? Or do the players on this team lose their D2 eligibility?

Given the "rules for future eligibility" line, I assume the latter.

Andrew's got it; this would be a normal DII team in all respects including future eligibility, except that you would play for free because you're doing us the favor of acting as a replacement team on 24 hours notice.
