ACF in 2009-2010

Post by Mr. Kwalter »

Hello all,

As interim communications director for ACF, I hereby announce the tournament schedule and editors for the upcoming season. To be clear, each of the multi-site tournaments has an editing staff and a non-editing supervisor, whose job is to handle the logistics for the tournament, give general editorial guidance, and crack the whip on the editors to keep up the pace.

ACF Fall - 10/31/09

Supervisor: Gautam Kandlikar
Editors: Will Nediger (Canada!), Auroni Gupta, Mehdi Razvi, Evan Adams, George Stevens

ACF Winter - 1/16/10

Supervisor: Andrew Hart
Editors: Trevor Davis, Eric Mukherjee, Rob Carson, Dennis Jang

ACF Regionals - 2/20/10

Supervisor: Jerry Vinokurov
Editors: Dwight Wynne, Chris Ray, Ted Gioia, Trygve Meade

ACF Nationals - 4/24/10

Editors: Ezequiel Berdichevsky and Ryan Westbrook

The supervisors will individually post announcements for their tournaments and calls for hosts. If you're interested in hosting ACF nationals, email Zeke at eberdich at gmail dot com.

That's a late date for Fall, but those are some impressive editing teams.

Fixed your response. I'm assuming Eric meant 10/31/09.

Julius Caesar and Caesar Augustus got their namesake months augmented by a day. November was named after nine, not a Roman dictator or emperor. Did someone really mean Saturday, October 31, 2009 for ACF Fall?

Nothing better than a tournament in costume.

Sorry everyone, ACF Fall will be on 10/31, not 11/31. The post has been edited accordingly.

Where will ACF Winter be held---has this been decided yet? Can HS Teams register for ACF Winter, as they did for ACF Fall?

High school teams can register for any ACF tournament--don't forget, Ike Jose won ACF Nationals DII last year playing solo.

I ask this question as well. I'm going to be out of the country through the week leading up to ACF Winter, so the sooner you guys can tell me where ACF Winter is, the better.

I don't even need to know which exact school is hosting, at this point; just tell me whether it's going to be in San Francisco or Los Angeles, so I can make arrangements to fly into the correct city the night before the tournament.

I'd like a quick clarification of ACF policies. My current understanding is that as of now, no "bastard" or mixed teams are allowed at ACF competitions even as exhibition teams. Is this correct? I am asking because I would like to play ACF Winter at a different site than the rest of Minnesota. My understanding of the rules is that I could still play it, but only solo. I'm pretty sure that a school can send multiple teams to different sites, but I'm not sure on the playing solo part. Is this true?

Last year, an Illinois bastard team played at ACF Winter (we had two alumni. Our games counted, but we were ineligible for the championship.
