Wanted: RMP Subject Editors
Hey everybody,
I am currently in the process of writing RMPFest 2. As the name suggests, it will be a tournament where all the questions are about religion, mythology, or philosophy. This year the tournament will feature 21/0 rounds with 7/0 each of R, M, and P. It will once again be held as a side event to IO or IO-equivalent events in mid-November.
I am seeking to fill some subject editor positions in the tournament. Specifically, these two:
(1) Philosophy Editor. Your job would be to oversee the 7/0 Philosophy distro. Since my events have always been 10 packets big, this means you will be in charge of 70 questions. You won't have to write all 70, but you will have to make sure that all of them are well-written, accessible, etc.
(2) Classical Myth Editor. Your job would be to oversee the (roughly) 2.5/0 classical myth distro, which includes Roman and Greek mythology. Again, you won't have to write all 25 questions, but you will have to make sure that all of them are well-written, accessible, etc.
Subject editors should not only be people who can write questions, but also those who have studied basic tenants of mainstream quizbowl aesthetics and can edit the work of others. You would get a stake in the tournament's profits in exchange for your work. Please contact me if you are interested.

Hey Bruce,
I would definitely be interested in this if no one else has volunteered. Send me an email at [email protected].

I should specify that I'd be interested in Classical Myth editing.

Bruce,
If the position has not already been filled, I would be interested in applying for the Philosophy Editor position. My version of Microsoft Word has spell-check, and I can count to 70. Excelsior!

Re: Wanted: RMP Subject Editors
Apologies for not keeping this updated; I have accepted Shantanu Jha as Philosophy editor and Dominic Machado as Classical Mythology editor. I have been embarrassed by the sheer collective talent of the people I have had to turn down because of already having made this decision, but I hope that those who applied after I had already brought Shantanu and Dominic on board will enjoy playing and perhaps winning the tournament.
If anybody is interested in contributing questions to the tournament, you can still do so, and you will still be paid a share of the profits roughly proportionate to the number of questions you wrote. Just email me.
