Haven't several people playtested CULT?

Also, are there any staffers who plan on staffing CULT but playing BELFAST? If so, please let me know. Because if there's not room for me to staff BELFAST (which I wrote for), I'll probably cut out and catch up with everyone later at dinner.
I think Nolan and I said something along those lines.

CULT's a friggin' huge tournament - I think I heard that there were 20 packets, only 4 of which were playtested with IL people.
This is accurate. There are 16 CULT packets blind to the field.

We can vote on this when we are at Maine South, but I would be very much in favor of scheduling lunch at 1 pm so that we can watch US vs. Group D runner up.

Rounds 4, 5, 6, and 7 are not blind to the entire field. That leaves sixteen rounds left plus an extra 21/21 packet for tiebreakers.

EDIT: Mike said that.

DOUBLE EDIT: I will try to schedule lunch during the second half. I think that would be preferable to all? I'll talk to Mr. Egan to see if there is a cable outlet of any kind.

Not that it should matter, but that extra packet isn't a full packet, doesn't contain a normal distribution and is mainly intended to be used for tie breakers.

I eyed it for a brief moment and it looked like I could pull a half-packet tiebreaker out if necessary.

I think it streams on the Internet too. So if he could just get us by a computer with a projector or something, that would be good.

Since I always seem to miss you on Facebook, Jeff, it will just be me and one other person from my high school. Feel free to combine us with whomever for CULT and we'll play as a pair for BELFAST.

I'm guessing he lacks computer access right now, but Ben Chametzky is apparently dropping.

Keep in mind that Ghana is a defensive team and that the US is confident of its ability to win a Penalty Shoot-Out, so that soccer game may be longer than 90 minutes.

Do you have any details on pricing, registration details, and other assorted bits of information that normally accompany a quizbowl tournament?

It is possible that we will need to take from the free agent pool. If we do draw a free agent they could preferably know about things like Movies.

Jack Glerum is our fourth, he will be playing Fine arts with Nolan. I don't know who I'll play with yet, I think two BG kids (wilber and Leung) will be at Maine South for Fine arts. I will let you know more when they get back from ACE.

I'm sorry for the extreme last minute asking of this, but can a team consisting of Myself,Mike Sorice, and Jeet Raut sign up for this (at least one conflict preventing us from playing, all of which cleared up really recently)?

Hey guys, I'm also going to send out an email about this to the people that I can, but we're stuck at seven teams right now. I will prepare for both a seven and eight team tournament and you guys can decide in the morning if you'd like to switch some players around to play more games.

Brad and I have a fully working buzzer system as of today. Brad would like to play in the room with our buzzer first round to make sure it's actually working.

Hey so, sorry to do this so late to you, but apparently while I was at ACE my parents organized some sort of dinner with a family friend-kind of thing, so I'll have to be leaving around 3 o'clock tomorrow. Hopefully by then, CULT will be over anyway and I'll just unfortunately leave Glerum without a partner for BELFAST. Once again, sorry to spring this on you, but it also got sprung on me.

Everything is going well in Illinois. We did have a brief issue with some players having already heard a packet that they shouldn't have heard, but that's been resolved.

The Enemies of Turok-Colby Burnett, Brian Hight, and Jeremy White- are putting up just over 500ppg.
Sorice Brutality-Mike Sorice, Jeet Raut, and Micah Hodosh- are in second with around 300ppg.

They are currently playing for the last undefeated spot.

EDIT: Enemies of Turok had a one game advantage after the round robin. Teams were repicked and a few more rounds were played.

Stats will be up soon, I think.

So I heard that BELFAST happened, although there were some randomizing issues (which are being resolved as we speak, and which are not an issue in the packets I sent to Mike Bentley for the CULT mirror). If anyone has any criticisms or comments about the set, please e-mail me, as I would appreciate hearing what you have to say.

EDIT: This is not true, we, Hate the Sister, not the Game, defeated Sorice Brutality for second place.

Did one game seriously end in a 0-0 tie?

No. We needed to put something in as a placeholder. After Round 6, we took a lunch break. Two teams decided not to come back. Instead, 3(?) more rounds were played in various rooms with scrimmage or drafted teams. BELFAST followed.

Actually, the score sheet from that game was lost on its way to me, though the game was played. The game to which Jeff is referring was settled via forfeit.

Hey all, this was my first time moderating a tournament, so if anyone was in my room and had any comments (positive or negative), I'd appreciate you contacting me privately with those comments. I hope my reading was good enough, thanks for bearing with me

Thanks again, Jeff, for having this.
