Vanity Audiovisual Other Arts Packet (3/27, 9 PM ET)

In order to hold myself accountable and actually finish this packet, I'm announcing a difficult (Nats to CO+) packet on audiovisual other, with an emphasis on opera, but with smatterings of musical theater, lieder, and ballet. Because interest will likely be limited for this kind of material, I've gone into full-bore vanity mode and emphasized Things I Like, with very little subdistributing. (For what it's worth, Jacob Reed has implied, not incorrectly, that my musical taste runs to second-rate works by third-rate composers ["trashy"].)

This packet will consist of at least 27 powermarked tossups and 20 bonuses, with the possibility of more questions as time allows. In accordance with my ill-defined and never-before-articulated belief that quizbowl AV art should interface with performance, and also because I've never successfully parsed a score clue in my life, these questions will emphasize clues about notable productions and performers.

I will read this packet on the Discord on a date TBA, pending completion of the packet; please let me know when you would be available if you would like to hear this packet.

UPDATE: Tentatively scheduled for 3/27 at 9 PM ET
UPDATE 2: You can find the final packet here.

Thanks to everyone who expressed interest! I've completed 30 tossups (with the possibility of more) and will write the bonuses today. The packet is complete enough that I'd like to stake out a time and date. I'll tentatively schedule the packet reading for tomorrow, Friday 3/27 at 9 PM on the Discord. If you have any issues with that time slot (o kind, generous-hearted handful of interested people), please let me know--I would be happy to reschedule!

At present, the planned/executed distribution is a wildly unbalanced:

Opera and lieder: [~85%]
Pre-1800: ~10%
1800-1900: ~35%
post-1900 (mostly clinging to the very beginning of the century): ~40%

Musical theater: [~10%]
Miscellaneous and dance: [~5%]

Oh, yes, Eastern Time! I forget that not everyone is East Coast Elite.

I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by to play this packet! This packet was thoroughly demolished in the Discord reading. (Apologies to those who got the late tossups and weren't able to capitalize on them by crushing the accompanying bonuses, since I didn't write enough of them.)

Final scores:
Zhenglin Liu: 290
John Lawrence: 205
Jacob Reed: 185
Matt Jackson: 85
Chris Sims: 25
Natan Holtzman: 25
Sam Brochin: 15
Sameer: -5

EDIT 2: You can find the final packet here.
