The Quizbowl Resource Center

Hi all! I'm very happy to announce that Eli Issokson and I are working on producing two packets themed around everything and anything Batman. This project began from Eli creating a 20/20 set which was read to people for the first time on 5/13. The end packets will consist of edited versions of those questions, and will feature another 20/20 of content targeting areas that were underrepresented in the first packet - specifically, animated and live-action adaptations. The final two packets will have an equal distribution of content.

We plan on having these questions ready by the end of May, at that point, I will put a poll up for what times work for people to play these.

We're sending up a Bat Signal for you guys to play this set! These are some of the funnest questions I've ever written, and on top of the original questions I mentioned last post, Eli and I have both written two supervillain tossups: these are pretty difficulty vanity tossups worth 20 points!

So since some of the questions have been played already by a small group of people, here is the plan: on Wednesday, we will be reading all of the new/heavily edited questions on the quiz bowl Discord server Wednesday night for those who played the original batch. For people who haven't played any of the questions, please come Thursday night to hear them all in two equally distributed sets! We can push the other packet to Friday if two in one night is a little much for people. DM me if you have time issues, or if you need a link to the Discord. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Well that would most certainly help for a packet reading! We're going to do 9:00 p.m. EST both nights as a start time.

I'll do my best to be there!

We decided to change around the times for these packets: instead of two nights, we're going to both packets on Wednesday night, the original packet starting at 9:00 EST and the second packet starting at 10:00 EST. We're doing this so we can maximize the amount of players on the second packet! If you played Eli's original packet, please join at 10:00 to hear all new questions!

I am very happy that our crime fighters managed to completely obliterate these villainous packets! The dastardly Dr. Bike (Mike Cheyne) managed to buzz his way to first place on the first packet, but our heroes Finn and John Lawrence managed to defeat him and tie each other on the second packet. I am very happy we had so many people to play this: thanks for everyone for coming out! I will post the packets to the database tonight.
