Missouri University of Science and Technology will be hosting a mirror of MAGNI on Saturday, October 29, 2011. MAGNI is a collaboration between Chris Chiego and Auroni Gupta at UCSD, Matt Jackson, John Lawrence, and Kevin Koai at Yale, and Jerry Vinokurov. MAGNI is a regular-difficulty tournament with clues and bonuses that keep newer players in mind.
For detailed information on the question breakdown or the difficulty of the tournament go to the official thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11748.
Pricing:
Base fee: $100 per team, -$10 per subsequent team (3 teams thus being 100 + 90 + 80 = $270)
Buzzer discount: -$10 per working buzzer set
Moderator discount: -$10 per moderator
Travel discount: -$10 per 200 miles traveled
Eligibility:
Teams must consist of students who attend the same school. No open teams or non-students may register to play. For more information on eligibility, see the link above for the official thread.
Formalities:
To sign up for the tournament, please email me, Alex Smith, at [email protected], and include the number of teams, buzzers, and staffers you will be bringing. Registration will begin at 8:00 am. We will have a short meeting at 8:50, and the first round of tournament play will begin at 9:00. Registration will most likely take place in the McNutt building on S&T’s campus (where our fall and spring tournaments were held last year).
Updated tournament information, including a list of registered teams, can be found on the Missouri Academic Competition Message Board (http://www.moquizbowl.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2376), and will be updated regularly.
We hope to see your team in Rolla this October. As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Alex Smith

The (pretty much final) field:
WUSTL 1
Harding 2
Illinois 2
Truman 1
Missouri Valley 1
Mizzou >= 1
Also, depending on how many teams Mizzou brings, we might field a house team so there are no byes.
I am also a little scrunched on staffers so if anyone wants to bring any extra help I'd appreciate it.

Frustratingly, it appears we won't be able to go because the interested members of our team don't have cars. I think we've learned our lesson and will make sure to pay for multiple WeCar accounts in the near future.
