NAQT Collegiate Novice (IS-186C) at Johns Hopkins (9/30/17)

Johns Hopkins University is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the MD/VA mirror of the NAQT Collegiate Novice tournament on Saturday, September 30, 2017. We will be using NAQT IS-168C. Registration will open at 8:00am and rounds will begin at 9:00am.

Eligibility:
Players who meet any of the following criteria MUST apply for special permission to compete:
  • If you have ever finished in the top 25 in scoring at PACE NSC or top 35 in scoring at NAQT HSNCT, or played on a team that finished in the top 24 at PACE NSC or T-21 at NAQT HSNCT.
    If you have ever scored at least 30 points per game at any college tournament.
    If you have ever won any college tournament.
Note: Because IS-168C is derived from IS-168, high school teams are not allowed to compete.

Location:
The tournament will take place at Johns Hopkins University, located at 3400 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218. Room locations will be in Shaffer Hall and Maryland Hall. A map of campus can be found here: http://cis.jhu.edu/images/campus_map_0907.pdf. Parking is available at the South Garage, at the flat rate of $8 per day.

Entry Fees and Discounts:
Base Fee: $15 per player
New Team: -$10 if your school has not played a tournament during the 2016 - 2017 year (limit one per school)
Buzzers: -$5 per each working buzzer system
Travel: -$10 per 200 miles traveled one way
Staffing: -$10 per competent staffer (limit one per team)

Payment must be made on the day of the tournament either by cash or check only. Please make checks out to "Johns Hopkins University."

Also given that the fees as listed are per-player it might be smart to have that as a field in addition to the number of teams.

Congratulations to Penn B, who defeated Virginia A in an advantaged final 500-160! Thanks to all teams and staffers for coming!

Thanks a lot to Johns Hopkins for hosting this tournament. I had a lot of fun staffing and the rest of the Delaware folks had a great time playing.
