NAQT Collegiate Novice at Swarthmore (10/26)

Post by Thaumatibis gigantea » Wed Sep 04, 2019 12:13 pm

Swarthmore College Quizbowl is pleased to announce that we will host a tournament using NAQT's Collegiate Novice Set (CNS-186C) on October 26, 2019. We hope to see teams in attendance from throughout the mid-Atlantic region, and especially encourage students who may not have played quizbowl before to attend.

The field is capped at 18 teams pending further volunteer staffers, so please use discretion in registering to allow other schools to attend, and try not to register more teams than you actually attend to field. Registration will be capped at 2 teams per school until October.

To register, you must fill out this registration form, located at If you have any issues or questions, please contact me through the board messaging system or at rebeccatherosenthal[at]gmail[dot]com.

Base fee: $100
Buzzer: -$5/functional system
Staffers: -$10/staffer
New to quizbowl discount: -$75

"New to quizbowl" discount is intended for schools that did not send a team to any regular collegiate academic tournament since September 2018, and have no one on the team(s) claiming this discount who played those tournaments for another school.

We will be conducting this tournament in Kohlberg Hall. Swarthmore's campus is accessible via the Swarthmore stop of the SEPTA Media/Elwyn regional rail line which connects to bus and Amtrak stops in Philadelphia. Free guest parking is also available in the Whittier and Ben West lots for the day.

Registration will open at 8:00 AM on the tournament day with a goal of starting rounds by 9:00. Further information will be distributed to registered teams closer to tournament day.

FIELD (teams/buzzers/staffers):
Rebecca Rosenthal, BFMS (Ridgewood), BCA (Hackensack),
PACE Director of Communications and Swarthmore College Quizbowl President, 2020
