ACF Constitutional Changes and New Officers

Hello,

ACF would like to announce constitutional changes for the 2019-2020 season and moving forward. Article 3.3.ii, regarding pathways for provisional membership, has been amended to expand the criteria for “substantial aid or logistical assistance to an ACF tournament” to include exceptional directors for Fall and Regionals, assistant directors for Nationals, and Nationals host liaisons. Article 3.4(B), on emeritus members returning to full membership, has been amended to remove the requirement for emeritus members to announce their intention to return before taking on one of the activities specified in 3.2(A-C).

Articles 4.1 and 4.2 have been amended to replace masculine pronouns for ACF officers with gender-neutral pronouns.

Article 4.4 has been amended to reflect the updated responsibilities of the ACF Communications Officer. The Communications Officer is now no longer responsible for assisting with logistics for regional hosts and packet submission, but is newly responsible for ACF’s social media presence.

Articles 4.2 and 4.7 have been amended to reflect the elimination of ACF’s Outreach Officer position. Article 4.7 now specifies the duties of the new Mirror Coordinator position, which will be responsible for soliciting hosting bids for ACF tournaments, communicating with hosts, and making sure tournaments follow ACF guidelines.

Article 4.6 has been amended to indicate that Editors-in-Chief of ACF tournaments are responsible for periodically updating ACF officers on their progress towards completion.

Articles 4.1, 4.2, 4.6, 5.2, and 5.7 have been amended so that the officer former called the "Meeting Chair" will now be called “President of ACF.” The president will be responsible for holding and moderating ACF meetings, conducting business on the ACF Forum, and generally presiding over all ACF operations. The editor-in-chief of ACF Nationals will no longer be the nominal president of ACF or responsible for calling meetings.
