CO Matchmaking

Post by Cheynem »

Even though we don't have a date or a location yet, let's get the ball rolling on this.

In my last two years playing, thanks to my strategy of riding the coattails of great teammates, I've finished at 4th and 2nd, so clearly I'm due for a championship win. I'm very good at saying "Oh, I knew that, too." I generally try and be pretty punctual at getting packets in.

I'm looking for teammates for CO. Historically my teams are competitive at VisArts, Physics, OSci, and finishing in the bottom bracket at CO.

I'm also looking for a CO team. I'll get you religion points (assuming I haven't forgotten everything since last year) and I'm a fairly competent history specialist at this level. I also know random hard stuff and I've mastered the fine art of being a second scorer in the finals by going 0/0/0. You definitely want me on your team.

I'd like to play CO for the first time this year but am not actually good at anything. I probably have the closest thing to specialist knowledge in bio and chem but knowing random stuff in other categories will likely make up most of my few tossup conversions.

I'm debating playing this year. I've always played on teams that were at least half non-men, so I'd like to keep that streak alive. I'm pretty okay at lit, visart, history and RMP

I'm looking for a team. Know some visual arts, history, current events, recent literature. Wrote last year's most talked about question.

I am seeking a team. I am good at lit, fine arts, and RMPSS and can get assorted rare buzzes in science and history. Message me if interested.

Edit: Found a team

I'm decent at post-1900 lit/vfa, know a tiny of bit of those subjects from before then, and I "know" "science" (besides chem)

also I have gummy bears, and I say nice buzz and fist bump people, even if they were converting a neg at the giveaway

I'm not particularly good and just in this to have fun, but if you have a spare spot on your team, I can get a few science buzzes.

There's also a very small chance I may have to cancel depending on when the tournament gets scheduled and whether some family obligations overlap with my moving out for grad school, but even if that happens, I'm still happy to contribute to a packet.

Popping in here to say that, like last years editors, we are really hoping to control this CO well and make it appeal to a wide audience. This should be not be a tournament for the faint of heart, but we also don't want it to crush your soul. I'd love for this to be the biggest CO ever if we can make that happen

This will be my 2nd CO and I want to have some fun. I'll get the team probably 2-3 good buzzes a round as well as 1 hilarious wrong answer. I'm pretty serviceable at history for this level as well as the Other Academic and Modern World categories.

Eric Wolfsberg, Zach Foster, and I have tentatively formed a team and are looking for a fourth player, preferably someone who has read a book.
