Your interest piques our interest. One thing that we'd like to mention is that the entry fee will include discounts for a team if they bring seniors who moderate.JackGlerum wrote:Hooray!

When you say only certain juniors will be allowed, is it fair to say you only want inexperienced juniors, if any? I'm speaking basically in reference to the juniors Auburn has who are only second-year players.

Basically. We're going to be looking at things on a case by case basis, and for the most part we're going to err on the side of letting people play. It's safe to say that Auburn will have juniors playing this tournament; it's also safe to say you won't be one of them. (Quite obviously, we'd love to have you moderate.)Aub-ZH wrote:When you say only certain juniors will be allowed, is it fair to say you only want inexperienced juniors, if any? Tentatively sign me up to moderate, Brad, assuming Auburn sends some teams.

Thanks!Siverus Snape wrote:Tentatively sign me up to moderate, Brad, assuming Auburn sends some teams.
It now occurs to me that, if we can get some questions for it, this would be the tournament to have some sort of moderators/coaches/players match after the tourney.

What would be your opinion about opening this up to Non blacklisted teams as well as JV teams? If there were enough teams than two completely seperate tournaments could be run or if not then merge them together. If coaches were able to get over their egos then I only see good things coming from exposing not as good varsity teams to pyramidal toss-ups with an easy answer selection.

Non-blacklisted teams are certainly free to come - we're only blacklisting seniors and experienced juniors. Seniors have nothing to gain from playing an easy difficulty tournament after IHSA state - they're either getting ready for nationals, college, or retirement.BGSO wrote:What would be your opinion about opening this up to Non blacklisted teams as well as JV teams? I'll have to check the schedule but I'm pretty sure we cam field a team and I can moderate.

Update. As of today, with just over a month to go before the tournament, we have one team (Loyola) attending. Please let me know if you're interested!

I'm not sure whether Auburn is coming, but I won't be able to moderate either way. I have a bunch of other commitments.

Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in the tournament. Unfortunately, we won't be able to make it happen.
