Valencia Red beat Broward in a playoff final at the Broward CC SCT (350?-140?-ish). Thus Broward was second, Valencia Black third, and Manatee fourth. I'll share stats when I get them.

So 2 teams went undefeated but only one won the tournament? How does that work?

I believe it is a typo and the second team went 11-1.

Stats for all the CC Sectionals, except for the one at Lamar in Texas, are now available under the results tab in the CC section at naqt's website. They do incorrectly have Broward winning the South FL SCT instead of Valencia, but they've been alerted.

I second the congratulations to all winners, and would like to thank NWSCC for a well-ran tournament and for the awesome cat bobblehead I received in the mini-round thing we played while stats were being tallied. The CCCT is definitely looking very interesting. See you all there!!

Good to hear that NW-Shoals still does the mini round game, and the prizes are pretty cool. Also, good job Mark, Owen, and the rest of Snead in doing what (I think) no other Alabama CC has done this year in beating Northeast. I'm sure NE will still get a bid with their insanely high PPG, and I hope Faulkner makes it too.

I figure NE Alabama is a lock, and Faulkner State is pretty close to a lock. Other strong bets are Broward Blue, Chipola B, North Florida, Manatee and Valencia B. The final two will probably come out of a group including Georgia Perimeter, SW Mississippi, Brevard, Lake Sumter, South Georgia and Jefferson State.

My dark horse team is the Oxford team that finished 10 points from a chance at 2nd place and also had the ninth best PPB out of all CCs.

That's a cool document, George--thanks for making and posting it.

How did Oxford manage to average nearly 14 ppb while only getting 158 pp20tuh? And go 2-6??? If y'all did a double RR, am I right to assume that they got four losses from JSR and GPC?

yes. They split their games with Dalton and South Georgia. Again, if that 250-240 loss goes the other way, you have a 4 way tie for second, which would have been fun to break. They were also the only team i trailed at the half, in that game wherein they got 23 PPB.

Our team got to play them at Faulkner, twice in fact. The first game we beat them by about 60, and the second one we lost to them by about 60 in the thrid place match. Oh yeah, you and Cooper beat us in the semis that sent us to the 3rd place match, jerks. j/k

Well, you guys were up on us by like 70 at halftime. Then I got a couple powers thanks to my random literature knowledge and it went from there. Either way it was a very exciting round and a nice addition to my first ever ACBL tournament. You guys got revenge on us at Snead though, damn our pathetic knowledge of science and everything about it.

Yep, you all pretty much annihilated us in the 2nd half of that match. We did barely beat you at Snead, but what you did to us at Wallace is illegal in 6 states. I wish we would have a chance to play again before Nationals, but we won't be at Southern Union because we went to the Seaside tournament which uses the same NAQT set.

Yeah, we put Mason on the C team to try and field a competitive B and C team. It worked out ok, and Mason even finished 4th overall in scoring. I wish yall luck at Southern Union, and hope yall win. If yall could post the results afterwards, I'd appreciate it.

Yeah. I agree. Nationals should be very interesting. Congrats to everyone that made it in. Thanks to a couple of terribly played rounds, we had to sweat out a bid. It's good to see that all of the teams that deserve to go from Alabama are going. Faulkner and Jeff State are two teams that you don't want to be matched up against no matter how good your day seems to be going.

Also, Snead was due a win against us. It's been fairly close every time we've played each other, and if there is one team that I don't want to meet in the finals of any tournament, it's them. As for Chipola, they are a scary team to play against as well. We've only been matched up against them once this year, and luckily for us, they negged on the last toss-up to seal a win for us. I have yet to see GPC play on NAQT questions, but I expect them to be really good competition. Reynolds and Valencia have also put up some good numbers this year, so it really can't get any better as far as a competitive field is concerned.
