Probably going in the wrong thread, but since i was notified the other week that we were accepted to PACE as a wildcard, where's the best destination when it comes to hotel rooms and such? This is Memorial Day weekend and we see a bunch of places already booked in the area. Where do other teams stay?

You can find a list of hotels near the campus of George Mason here.

I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that we are down to 21 spots available to teams.

Thanks.

Is there a certain hotel that many/most of the teams stay at? Or is it just random? We're just trying to find one with the best combination of good price, location, and hopefully some company as well.

No specific hotel for teams (PACE will secure its own block for staff). But I will note that since it is Mem Day weekend, Rolling Thunder might be booking some rooms in the area for their participants. The hotel list they've given out to their members: http://www.rollingthunder1.com/PDFs/RT% ... Master.pdf .

I just wanted to make a post alerting everyone that the NSC field is filling quickly, so if you want your team entered, you'll want to register soon. We already have met last year's field size of 48 teams, which means our maximum field of 64 teams is not very far away.

This is our first time at PACE. What time will the activities end on Saturday (so I can plan for a flight home)?
Thanks.

You'll want to plan to fly home Sunday night--playoff games are on Sunday.

Also, depending on your school's schedule, Monday is Memorial Day.

2009 NSC - Two spots available!

Post by BuzzerZen »

As of this moment, registration for the 2009 PACE National Scholastics Championship is suspended. The field is not full—there are 56 teams registered right now (out of 64 available slots), and several wildcard applications are awaiting approval. In order to ensure that the field fills up in an orderly fashion, registrations and wildcard applications for the tournament from hereon out will be redirected to the waitlist. Once all currently pending wildcard bids are resolved, we will add qualified teams from the waitlist to the field immediately and wildcard applications on the waitlist will be dealt with promptly.

If your team wants to attend the 2009 NSC, now is the time to register. The field is very close to being full, and we can make no guarantees to any individual teams that a spot is being held for them.

Due to a couple of teams withdrawing, there are now two spots available in the field. If you wish to be guaranteed a spot in the field without depending on other teams not showing up and are a qualified team, officially registering is the route you want to take.
