Westfield Tournament Fall '09?
Just checking to see if there might be some interest in an academic competition tentatively scheduled for next fall in Westfield, NJ.
No definitive word on the format as of yet; more to come if it looks like the plan will come to fruition.

I'm sure certain players on my team would just love to come to a Westfield tournament next year.
You should expect a Bloomfield team.
What format do you plan to use Dalton.

Depending on availability, we (Chatham) would be most interested in attending. You should be able to get an HSAPQ set without too much trouble, there might also be an NAQT A-level set available for the fall (do LIFT and Yale both use A-sets? If so, maybe not...).
Good luck!

Charter is interested, depending on date, packets, etc.

Re: Westfield Tournament Fall '09?
I appreciate your responses.
As for the questions, various options have been discussed at our meetings. We will most likely either get questions from NAQT or they will be written in-house. I know in-house questions may be somewhat of a discouraging factor, but I think that if this is in fact the choice we make, we'll make the best of it.
Jeopardy! format seems to be popular with some of the tournaments we have attended, so that is most likely what we will do. Then again, nothing is final as of now, so this is subject to change.

Please don't do this. You will have many respectable teams will who have no interest in coming if this is the format you choose.dmackattack wrote:Jeopardy! format seems to be popular with some of the tournaments we have attended, so that is most likely what we will do. Depending on the date chosen, Saint Joseph's of Metuchen would also be interested, but would also recommend, as others have, that you NOT adopt the Jeopardy format. Of course, final decisions are up to you, but I suspect that many teams will choose not to come if the Jeopardy format is chosen---most would probably prefer a traditional NAQT format, especially early in the year when teams wish to qualify for Nationals. Hope this helps you in your decsion-making, and Saint Joe's certainly wishes you well whatever decision you make.

Resurrecting the thread to see if there's been any progress on this one - with the silence coming from Rutgers, there's a great opportunity to host in November.
