THUNDER mirror at UCI?

Hello all,

After a long delay, UCI received approval today to host a West Coast mirror of THUNDER. For details about THUNDER, please see the thread at:

The fee structure would be the same as at the Brandeis mirror:

Base fee: $100, with -$5 per additional team
Buzzer discount: $5
Moderator discount: $10
Minimum fee: $70

Unfortunately, a mirror of THUNDER on 10/24 may not be desirable given this late date. I have two questions for West Coast teams.

1. Would you attend a mirror of THUNDER on a suitable date (and, if so, how many teams would you likely bring?)

2. Would you attend a mirror of THUNDER on 10/24 (and, if so, how many teams would you likely bring?)

3. What unclaimed West Coast dates would work best for you?

It might be nice to know alternate open days that we could also use.

I think the following dates are taken:

Oct. 31st.
Whatever weekend WIT decides to happen (that would be either Nov. 14th or 21st:

Obviously Thanksgiving weekend is out (Nov. 28th?)

That would leave the following dates (from my vantage point):

Nov. 7th
Dec. 5th

As of right now, Oct. 24th is out as I only have three confirmed teams (including no NorCal, UCSD, or USC).

If you are from a school other than UCLA or Caltech, please contact me if you are interested in this tournament.

Ray, UCSD will send a team to this tournament, but I would rather it be held sometime in November.

Since I already committed to playing at the UW mirror, if this is held at a date after theirs, and UCLA attends, I would probably staff.
