I added Quizzy to a wave and it posted a commands list, but it's not sending any questions in response to commands. A while ago it would just send an empty blip with nothing at all in it, but now it doesn't even respond to commands. Is anyone else having this problem?

roth wrote:Just an FYI, all Python-based robots for Wave (including Quizzy) are currently broken. Google's most recent slew of API updates have messed up the functionality which allows Python robots to create new Blips, so while Quizzy is still working behind the scenes, questions aren't currently being correctly sent to the end Wavelet.

I'll let you all know once this functionality is restored.

I should have Quizzy back up and running (possibly with a few improvements) by the end of the weekend. Google pushed a new update recently which fixes the issue with Quizzy not being able to create new Blips, but their is a second issue with Quizzy not receiving data from its Datastore when queried. Luckily, my bug on the bug-tracker has already been flagged as "Fixed" and should be pushed to Wave this weekend, at which time the robot should have full functionality restored.

The new version will possibly include auto-scrolling text (it'll type one word at at time, at a reasonable pace), and will wait until you request to see the answer before automatically showing you. I've also come up with a routine to let users reply back with acceptable answers, so I can start adding those to the database along with the questions, but I'll probably leave this feature turned off for a while.

Can a moderator please move this thread to AHAN or something so we don't see "please invite me to Google Wave" new posts in the Discussion board for the next month?

Alternatively, if anyone knows how to "always ignore" a thread in phpbb that would be another option.

You can, you know, not click on a thread.

Quizzy is back up and running.

I couldn't patch in the new features, because there is still some weird back-end stuff that Google needs to fix. So, at the very least, you can once again use Quizzy to retrieve questions for you by level and category. As the Wave API matures and can handle the additional functionality I want to implement with Quizzy, then I'll patch the robot over time.
