Kindle and other eBooks

Post by ryandillon »

Hello to all,

I'm not sure if this would fall under "Books" or not, but I just ordered a Kindle DX and had some questions about eBooks. Obviously there are limitations in Amazon's eBook store but I was wondering if anyone else knows of any good reference material that I could get from there, i.e. things like Benet's Readers Encyclopedia. Also, if there aren't, does anyone know where I can get good reference material in PDF form that can get on my Kindle? I know these things aren't widespread yet, but I think they could really help people become better quiz bowl players. Any thoughts?

You can certainly read anything on Project Gutenberg.

I have all the ACF Fall tossups on mine from ACFDB. I use it to read practice sometimes, and we used it to read tossups in the airport on the way to Prison Bowl.

4shared and Scribd are good places to get books.

As are torrents if you go that route.

Fun fact: The "l" comes before the "g" in my last name.

This --> http://www.truly-free.org/ has a ton of awesome (free) e-books that aren't public domain, are canonical, and are legal if you are worried of such things.
