Westbrook/Rom/Peterson/Durgin, at least I think that's what Donald told me.

After some badgering and yelling, here is the field:

Chicago
Michigan
Westbrook/Durgin
Sorice/Meade/Garb
Canning/Hodosh/C. Messner
Masrour/Peterson

Same format. There are three classrooms in that hallway, so everything else is the same.

OK, given the change in team composition, I will not be coming to this tourney.

Your first post indicating you were coming just asked if Ryan (who notably isn't a syncretization of three people) would want to play with you, so...

Dude, I know you want a Stingray award real bad, but as of the last time I checked, there is not have a category for biggest passive-aggressive dick move. Although, this post sure as hell makes a really fucking compelling case.

Ryan joined Illinois B, Rom joined Illinois A.

Triple RR, I'm waiting on the other R4 game.

After a resolved protest (and replacement tossup/bonus), Illinois A is undefeated, defeating Chicago A 280-260.

Chicago has the advantage over Illinois in a final. Stats are not done due to me having a splitting headache since after lunch.

Stats

Chicago won in OT in the first final game, 200-190. I believe packet 11 was burned.

Much props to Ryan Westbrook who drove down with the entire Michigan contingent. You saved this tournament. I cannot offer enough props, even though you only paid $15 to play.

Props also go to Charles Martin, who replaced me in the middle of round 6. At some point as I while was trying to read round 6, and 2-3 tossups in, I asked him to replace me because I could not read, and ended up reading the rest of the day. Also, thanks for lunch.

Micah gets the superhero award, as after Jeff had to leave, I tried to read, but Micah replaced me against my will. Given my condition, this was for the best. You forbode playing in favor of making sure the tournament went on. Dude, you rock. Thank you.

Michigan. Given the stacked field, you could have chosen to chicken out given the likelihood that you would win few (if any) games, but came anyway, and went home with a couple wins.

Jeff Geringer, who freelanced some questions, and came out to read. As long as you cut down on the asides, you are a pretty damn good reader.

Chicago, for joining us at Murphy's (a local pub) for afters. Thankfully the asides about ancient history weren't too bad, and I may have learned a thing or two.

Rom Masrour and Ryan Westbrook, who tolerated playing alongside ABT members all day to help the day go smoother.

The Harvard club and Shantanu Jha, for providing the questions. There was some haggling behind the scenes in order for us to procure this mirror, and in the end, it was very small. Nonetheless, I am glad that people in this region were given the opportunity to play quizbowl this weekend.

Anyone else I forgot. Given the events prior (and during) the tournament, I'm glad the tournament ended on a high note. For the last tournament I run as a member on behalf of the Academic Buzzer Team, I could not have asked for a much better outcome on the whole.

And, of course, thanks to Andy Watkins, who put up with my yelling at the lack of questions, and then lack of tiebreakers, which didn't add up to a hill of beans given that even with the scrimmage, we only used 14 rounds (we used round 10 for tiebreakers/replacements).

Also, after the tournament, teams were drafted, and played three rounds of scrimmages. If people would be so kind as to forward me stats for those, I will get those posted, despite having not one, but TWO other tournaments to compute stats for and post.

In short, much thanks to everyone for coming out and making me look like I know what I'm doing when running a tournament. It was a great day of quizbowl for all involved, even in spite of my splitting headache and inability to read a computer screen.

To the person who wanted to come, but overslept: it happens. I've done it before (see the Minnesota mirror of Sun'n'Fun last summer). To the person who withdrew at 1:34am: If you want to withdraw because you lost coattails to ride, man up and say it.

EDIT: Statement revised in self-interest.
