So we're totally writing 13 packets for 24 teams (see first post for format), so we hopefully don't exclude people.
Your Cup of Robust Tea wrote:Field

Teams

1) Chris White and Jonathan Magin
2) Eric Mukherjee and Evan
3) Charles Hang and Mike Perovanovic
4) Rob Carson and Matt Bollinger
5) Ike Jose and David Garb
6) Rebecca Maxfield and Jonathan Magin
7) Eric Kwartler and Chris Romero
8) Jerry Vinokurov and Kevin Koai
9) Richard Mason and John Lawrence
10) Mike Cheyne and Greg Peterson
11) Sabrina Fritz and Ikshu Neithalath
12) Bernadette Spencer and Trevor Davis
13) Aaron Rosenberg and Chris Ray
14) Scot Putzig and Andy Kravis
15) Seth Teitler and Selene Koo
16) Evan Adams and Andrew Hart
17) Charlie Dees and Mike Sorice
18) Matt Lafer and Ryan Westbrook
19) Gautam Kandlikar and Brendan Byrne
20) Brad and Kristin
21)
22)
23)
24)

Please note that after 24 teams of two are filled, we will arbitrarily make a few teams of 3, if need be. This will be done within reason and we will avoid adding third players to notably good teams already.

Two things.

Firstly, I'm announcing that, following suggestion by Shantanu, we are compiling a Packet of Death from the tossups which we initially kicked, not because they were bad, but because they were a bit too murderously hard.

Also, we do still need some more staffers (and actual teams to sign up, but that will presumably happen nonetheless). My brother and I may not be attending/staffing this based on what day it takes place and how offended my extended family will be if I leave them for quiz bowl, but I would only _read_ as like last resort kind of thing.

Oh yeah, on this note it might be better if you have me do stats, especially considering i don't see that DT has volunteered yet. Of course, if you already have somebody to do stats or something like that I'd much rather be actually in the game rooms and get to see these awesome matches, but whatever you need works.

This is just a reminder for people (namely current free agents) to get their teams formed. We're still about 2 months away, but it'd be nice to figure out the amount of teams we're looking at and all.

Also, potential staffers should let me know of whether they can help (whether by reading or scorekeeping).

I'm really hoping I can get a sufficient number of staffers (minimum 13) as well as players (enough to fill 24 teams; it isn't about money, I just want scheduling to be easy) for this. If you guys can think of more people who can play or staff, please ask them. Thanks!

Also, what's the probability that there will just be extra people at CO on Sunday evening who'd be willing to staff/play?

Bumping this.

Chicago Open approaches. I'd really appreciate it if teams filled out and such. I'd be thrilled if some additional people expressed interest (please ask around guys) so we could get a straight 24 teams and run the initially planned schedule. If you're on the Free Agents list, please find your way to a team.

I'm announcing my free agency for this event. I'm not great at higher-level tournaments, but I do have pretty solid knowledge of the canon up to ACF fall and some of winter. Obviously I'm not looking for a team to win it all, but anybody who's looking for teammates to play some quizbowl and have some fun hit me up, I'll play with anybody at all. I'm best at 2-D visual arts and opera(s that I've seen or written about).

The packet distribution will go something like this, if anyone was interested.

5 painting
5 music
2 miscellaneous
2 opera/ballet (the final distribution is not completely set in stone, but it will be about 0.6 ballet/1.4 opera)
1.8 film
1.5 architecture
1.5 sculpture
1. 2 jazz
