Tar Heel Cup - 9/25/10
Tar Heel Cup - 9/25/10
Hi, all!
UNC’s Quiz Bowl team will be hosting the Somethingth Annual Tar Heel Cup on September 25, 2010. As usual, it will take place on UNC’s campus—the exact buidings have yet to be reserved, but will probably be a combination of Dey and some other building. Also as usual, the tournament will begin around 9 and run until late afternoon. I know that’s a bit vague—more details to come.
If you plan on coming, please send us a message at [email protected]. Go ahead and tell us your school, how many teams you will be bringing, and whether you can provide buzzers. We will be capping the number of teams at 28 (give or take a few), so please write soon.
The price is same as last year: $75 for one team, $50 for each additional team. You get a $10 discount for each buzzer set you bring.
For the curious, we will be buying our questions from HSAPQ; that’s where we got last year’s packet.
Please send any and all questions to [email protected]. We will be posting further details after our first team meeting. And if you know any coaches/schools I might have missed, please send this message along to them.
You can also post any comments/questions here.

Yeah, I've been aware of the other GDS with green colors' existence for a while now (hence the link, which was the whole point of that post); just did a double-take since I didn't know they played quizbowl.Carangoides ciliarius wrote:Greensboro Day School.RyuAqua wrote:Wait, what?lazcisco wrote:GDS

This thing's now at NCSSM instead of UNC. Same bat time.

I'll let the tournament officials post the standings and stats. Final match was Early College of Guilford A over RCHS A 460-120. Enloe and NCSSM were the other semifinalists.

Stats are posted here:

I'm sorry if there are any inaccuracies, especially in individual stats. Our score was not used to keeping stats and was very confused for the first couple rounds.

Were worksheets or bouncebacks used for this?
