"WINNERS": Fairytale of New York 17-5, I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus 13-8, Let's Have A Patrick Swayze Christmas 16-5, What's This 11-9

I believe the voters made the Correct choice on the close 5-12 race, since Bar-B-Que doesn't have anything to do with Christmas other than originating in a Christmas special.

Next set of matchups will be open for just shy of 24 hours. Vote by 11:59 PM EST Friday December 3 on:

3) Merry Christmas I Don't Want to Fight Tonight by The Ramones vs. 14) Baby, It's Cold Outside by Dean Martin
6) Christmas in Killarney by The Irish Rovers vs. 11) One Little Christmas Tree by Stevie Wonder
2) Santa Claus Goes Straight To The Ghetto by Snoop Dogg et al. vs. 15) Santa's Got a Mullet by Nerf Herder
7) Blue Christmas by Elvis vs. 10) Santa Claus is Coming to Town by The Ventures

I'll listen to these later; I'm just dropping in to note that Nerf Herder played the Buffy theme music. Alyson Hannigan apparently had known about them prior to doing the show and suggested them to Joss Whedon.

I don't especially know why I felt the need to bring this up, but I'm just pleased to know that Nerf Herder has actually done anything but the Buffy theme music that I would ever hear about subsequently in my life.

Well, I'm not participating in this competition, but I wonder why SLH didn't select the much cooler Louis Jordan-Ella Fitzgerald version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside." Maybe that recording would do better.

EDIT: Oops, because I am ignorant, I put in Armstrong first, not Jordan.

People are voting for "Merry Christmas, I Don't Want to Fight Tonight" because it's a great song. Seems pretty straightforward to me!

Ramones
Christmas in Killarney
Snoop D-O-double-G
Santa Claus Is Coming to Town*

*On the other hand, maybe something's wrong with me; I've never liked "Blue Christmas" at all.

Had a different version of Santa made the list, I'd have voted the other way.

8) We're a Couple of Misfits by Burl Ives vs. 9) It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Fish-Men by Andrew Leman
4) Oi to the World by The Vandals vs. 13) Christmastime for the Jews by Darlene Love
5) Christmas in New Orleans by Louis Armstrong vs 12) The Christmas Song by Weezer
