I know that it's early, but save the date. Dorman will be hosting the 21st Annual Cavalier Academic Challenge on January 22, 2011. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Mr. Huff, when will more detailed information be posted? Thanks!

Hopefully, we will be able to make it to your tournament. I thoroughly enjoyed it last year.

We'd love to have Norcross join the field. I mailed registration information to the school a few weeks ago, but I'm guessing you never received it. I'll email you a copy when I get to school in the morning.

I wanted to let you know that Norcross plans to bring a varsity and JV team in January. However, our registration forms won't be there until after the new year. If you prefer an e-mail I can arrange that.

Unfortunately, Dorman's tournament hasn't been written by players for a few years, as this one was. Thus, there are no samples (that I know of) aside from Dorman's ACF fall packet, but that probably won't compare to the Cav Challenge very well. Sorry.

I hope to have information about mirroring up soon.

Will a stats page/similar info be posted? Congratulations to finalists Dunbar and DuPont Manual. Also, congratulations to Chattahoochee. Playing Dunbar in the semis showed our team we have to study more to avoid the ridiculous number of lost buzzer races that we seemed to have in that game.

In my opinion, the questions were very well written. They clearly were pyramidal and had good giveaways. A step up in difficulty was obviously seen between the prelims and playoffs. Thank you to Mr. Huff and the rest of the Dorman crew for a very enjoyable day. We look forward to coming next year!

I realized that my previous comment might have offended Dunbar. This was not my intention at all. Dunbar is a very solid team and my teammates and I enjoyed playing them.

Could someone take the time and edit my above comment so that it sounds less offensive? Thanks.

Thanks for the compliment. Our goal in writing the set was to have questions that increased in difficulty throughout the day while at the same time stayed accessible and playable.

I will post the full results soon, but...

VARSITY

1) Dunbar (Lexington, KY
2) duPont Manual A (Louisville, KY)

JV

1) Dunbar A (Lexington, KY
2) duPont Manual A (Louisville, KY)

Congratulations to Dunbar and duPont Manual for strong performances in both divisions.

Congrats to Dorman for continuing their tradition of excellence when it comes to staging an event like this and keeping things running so smoothly! They are an amazing group of players, coaches, parents, and supporters.

Mostafa- Absolutely no problem here! Norcross OBVIOUSLY has a fabulous JV team and you were right about the buzzer races. Many times virtually everyone on both teams was trying to buzz in at the same time!
