Coaches,

Looking forward to seeing you all on St. Patrick's Day tomorrow!!

---Registration begins at 8:00 AM. Please enter at the main entrance of the HS
under the "MILLBURN HIGH SCHOOL" letters).

---Complimentary breakfast between 8 - 8:45 AM. Bagels (yes, including some
green ones!), cream cheese, butter) OJ, apple & other juices, & water

---We'll be setting up in 5 brackets of 6, with bracket winners & three wild cards
going on to playoffs. Each team will play five preliminary matches. Individual
awards will be awarded at this time

NOTE: We're hoping to get all five prelims in before lunch. Thus, the top eight
will go to lunch at that point. The rest of the field can leave if they wish,
but are invited to stay & watch matches, as long as they are quiet
observers. A list/map of alternative options for lunch (local eateries &
phone #'s of local pizzerias that deliver) will be included in the team
packet you'll receive at registration

---PLAYOFFS will include two round-robin brackets of four teams. After three
playoff matches, teams will be seeded for a fourth match for placement
(Bracket A winner plays Bracket B winner for championship, Bracket a 2nd
place plays bracket B 2nd place for 3rd/4th place, etc.)

---If you have not sent me a cell number at which you may be reached, please do
so, at [email protected]. If you need to reach me by phone tomorrow
morning, please call me at (973) 879-5742.

Will there be consolation matches for the teams that do not make the top bracket?

Lily, it doesn't sound like it. Why is this the case? Most "good quizbowl" tournaments over far more than 5 guaranteed games.

No, there are no consolation brackets - I made that clear in the original posting.
For a variety of reasons (not the least of which is that it's St. Patrick's Day!), we
have experienced staffing difficulties that have greatly limited what we can do.

Michael Ploch from St. Joe's forgot his glasses at Millburn, so if you find them he'd like it if you could notify him somehow.

If Michael had black frame glasses, I found them - they are in my mailbox
