Re: GSAC XX is looking for Mirrors!
GSAC has traditionally been one of the most consistently good events in the country. A couple questions for you guys --
1. Who working on GSAC XX has worked on previous GSACs, either as writer or editor?
2. If the answer to #1 is "several people," would you be interested in and/or have you considered collaborating with another school that is less experienced at putting together a set? There are certainly a ton of schools that fit that bill, and a dearth of schools that fit your description.

Most of the writers and all of the editors from GSAC XIX are working on GSAC XX. In addition to the old team, we have several writers who are working for the first time on GSAC.in on these shenanigans wrote:GSAC has traditionally been one of the most consistently good events in the country. Unfortunately, the set has progressed too far to consider a collaboration at this point. Also, many of our writers are too busy with other commitments to make a collaboration work. We feel it would be unfair to bring on novice writers and then be unable to give them the required time or attention to help them improve because of our other time commitments.

How much? .5/.5? Or is "Math/CS" delegated to 3/3, as it sometimes is.alinktothefuture wrote:Math falls under the 4/4 Science subdistribution.Charles Martel wrote:What is the math distro going to be?

Re: GSAC XX is looking for Mirrors!
What is the intended difficulty of this set? It seems like the same "especially accessible side of regular" difficulty as last year would work well again for this set, and seems like a level most sets are eschewing, in case you're wondering why I ask.

Yeah I loved the difficulty last year, as did our decently large field.

Re: GSAC XX is looking for Mirrors!
Lisgar (Ottawa, ON) mirrored this set yesterday (Feb. 2nd) and people really liked it, it was pretty good for the established metagame. Definitely not a novice set, which some teams learned the hard way, but the established teams really enjoyed the set. Great for a growing quizbowl community.

Re: GSAC XX is looking for Mirrors!
Hey Soho (and the rest of Maggie Walker), first of all, congratulations on writing another mostly excellent set. I did notice some things while reading it yesterday, so would you email me a copy (remove the NOSPAM) at [email protected]? Thanks!

Have all the mirrors for this set concluded? If so, could you please post the set in the archives?
