First Annual Tulane Fall Tournament (New Orleans, LA)
Tulane's Quiz Bowl team is proud to announce the First Annual Tulane Fall Tournament on November 17, 2012. Registration will begin at 8:30AM with a brief meeting at 9:00AM. Game play will begin at 9:15AM and run until at lunch at approximately 12:30PM. Lunch will last an hour, and there are several establishments on and around campus for participants to purchase food. Play will resume around 1:30PM with finals in the afternoon. A short ceremony will be held at the end of the tournament, around 5:00PM, to announce winners.
Fees: The base fee for each school will be $45. Each additional team from a school is $35. We will also provide a $10 discount for each working buzzer system (minimum eight working buzzers), with a maximum of two buzzer system discounts per school. You may pay with cash or check on the day of the tournament. Checks should be made payable to “Tulane Quiz Bowl.”
Questions: We will likely be using a NAQT IS packet. Standard untimed 20/20 tossup/bonus format. NAQT’s rules may be found at http://naqt.com/rules.html. Sample questions are available at http://naqt.com/samples/.
Location: Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. More information on what building the tournament will be in and a campus map will be provided to participating schools at a later date.
To register, please e-mail me at [email protected] with the number of teams and buzzer systems you will be bringing. We are capping the field at 20 teams; priority will be given to the teams registering the earliest. The deadline to register is Friday, November 9.

I wanted to point out that this is shaping up to be the biggest tournament we've had at Tulane since I moved to New Orleans. We're very excited about the number of teams that are attending (many of which also attended Chapelle's tournament in September), including a school that is brand new to QB in Pearl River.

Updated field:
St. Martin’s (2 Teams)
Pearl River High (1 Teams)
Ascension Episcopal (1 Team)
Lafayette High (2 Teams)
Mount Caramel (1 Team)
Jesuit (3 teams)
Archbishop Shaw (1 Team)
Lusher (1 Team)
Chapelle (1 Teams)
Rummel (2 Teams)
Pensacola (3 Teams)
Ben Franklin (2 Teams)
Sacred Heart New Orleans (1 team)
Brother Martin (1 Team)
Teams attending should note that Tulane is a pretty difficult campus to navigate, especially when it comes to parking. Yesterday we sent out a campus map with parking areas and relevant buildings highlighted; if any school would like another copy of that map, they can contact me or Katherine.

Re: First Annual Tulane Fall Tournament (New Orleans, LA)
Congratulations on having things run pretty smoothly. I know a few issues came up (as they always do), but they were dealt with pretty smoothly and efficiently, and all the moderators I saw were very good.

Jesuit A defeated Pensacola B to win the top bracket, with Pensacola A defeating Ben Franklin A to place third. Lusher defeated Pearl River (playing in the place of Rummel A) to win the bottom bracket. Word on the street is that stats will be posted soon.

The "Team Detail" page seems to be showing stats from last year's Tulane tournament, but all the other stat pages appear to be correct. Thanks again for hosting!
