Terrapin at Alabama (4/6/13)
Greetings, quizbowlers.
Alabama is happy to announce that it is hosting a mirror of Terrapin on Saturday, April 6, 2013 (in like 10 or so days!). I suppose I will have some details soon but I figured I would start off with the ultra late announcement. I know this is a last minute thing but since no one in the region is actually hosting, I figure quizbowl is better than no quizbowl. If you haven't written a packet, you can play this event. Given my current small staffing pool, I'm going to set the field cap at 6 + 2n teams, where n is the number of rooms that you, the community, staff. This is also an open event.
The tournament will take place at Bidgood Hall as usual, more details to come.
WE WILL MEET ON THE GROUND FLOOR OF BIDGOOD TO DISCUSS MORE DETAILS. THE TOURNAMENT FIELD IS VERY SMALL SO THERE WILL BE CLOSE TO NOTHING TO ACTUALLY DISCUSS.
PLEASE BE THERE AROUND 8:30 - 8:45. STARTING AROUND 9:00 WOULD BE A VERY GOOD THING.
The fee structure will be as follows:
$80 per team
-$5 per buzzer (limit two discounts)
-$10 per moderator (and I will be forever thankful)
-$5 per 200 miles traveled according to Google maps
minimum fee: $60.
If you are having financial trouble for whatever reason and cannot afford to pay at the moment but you really want to play, we would be more than happy to discuss payment options with you in private.
I'm sorry for the short notice for this event. If you would like to register, please send me an email at husbandofsamus at gmail dot com to do so.

We're still planning to have this - it will probably end up being a small four-team tournament but we are definitely still having it.

Alright, so this happened. At the end of the day, Dargan and I finished tied atop the standings at 7-2 and decided to play no tiebreaker and get tacos. Thanks to everyone who came to play! Stats can be found below:
