I am interested in playing all of these things. Are there people who want to be my teammates for any or all of it?

I'll be coming down with a to-be-determined number of others from Ottawa, more info to follow when I have it. We should also have one buzzer set.

Yup.

Also, how are you guys planning on running Schindler's Lit (singles/doubles/??)?

This is going to depend on how many people are playing it and on what more people would prefer.

I'm expecting a "decent" number of people will be playing Schindler's Lit, so I think doubles would work well, though we'll likely allow people to solo if they want to.

I'm interested, whether or not I have a team! And I think Westmount may also be interested in fielding a team of some sort. Or two.

High school. I'll say that I'm probably coming down for this with people in Ottawa and am looking for people to play with, especially those who are competent at science (you don't have to be Mukherjee-level though).

I'm also interested in playing Schindler's Lit and any other side tournaments planned (CAHOOTS?).

Does this mean you'll be playing with Ottawa, or separately?

I've always wanted to play a tournament in another country. I intend to play solo*, unless it makes it easier from a scheduling standpoint to add me to another shorthanded team. Is there interest in playing a second side event (like the tossups from TAMIL)? If there is interest, will we still have access to the rooms late into Saturday night or on Sunday morning?

Do people in the area have suggestions on where to stay, where to eat, and things to do on Friday nights/Sunday mornings (unless a side event is being played then)?

*This entirely depends on my ability to get Fri., 7/12 off work, which I believe is probable.

You're welcome to play with Huma and me, Pat, though we can't promise anything even close to Mukherjee-level science knowledge (or anything knowledge, though I hear that Huma likes books)

TAMIL is all tossups, and is still open for mirrors of five dollars per player. Depending on how you format it (shootout seems to work the best) it seems to take 2-3 hours to complete.

We are hoping to do CAHOOTS as a second side event, though this has yet to be confirmed. Rooms will be no problem for Saturday night, but we'd rather not go into Sunday.

Where to stay - you can stay at a university residence, which is walking distance from the main campus. Rate is $52/night for a single, which is way cheaper than a hotel.
Where to eat - there's a plaza adjacent to campus with many options (and better food if you go farther out).
What to do - umm...yeah, Waterloo's not the most exciting city. There are bars?

You could also try here for another place to stay at $95/night. It's still close to the main campus and almost certainly nicer than the REV conference centre.

An easy science side event (ranging from IS level to Fall+ level) was played at NSC and it wasn't all that terrible. Maybe that would be of interest to you.

Some combination of McGill players will likely be in attendance - we have to sort out transportation & accommodation as of yet, so consider this a statement of intent. I'll update once we're able to confirm.

McGill et al. confirming our attendance now!

However: one member of our team needs a way back to Toronto after Schindler's Lit, will anyone be driving there?

EDIT: We may actually have five people at this tournament, in which case I am available to read and you all get to hear my charming English accent.

I can going back to Toronto after Schindler's Lit and can take your extra person. As far as I know, our team also has only two people and we could probably use some teammates if you have an extra who won't be playing otherwise.

Just letting peeps know that I'm still down like Donkey Kong for Sat, and I'll play any side events that people wanna do. If Schindler's Lit is doubles, I'd prefer to have a teammate (I suck at lit!). If anyone *really wants* to play with me they can, but otherwise I have no problem soloing. Prolly piss fewer people off with my ill-timed negs that way.

Yo, so apparently there's a team of Westmount alumni coming. I'll be either playing by myself, or with Andrew Almas, although he's also ok playing by himself if needed to even out the teams at all.
