An Intimate Engagement with Trash Mirror @ McMaster, Oct. 19
Good morning everyone! After a fairly boring summer up here in Canada with very few tournaments to attend, McMaster is pleased to announce that we shall be hosting a mirror of the esteemed Seth Teitler* Presents: An Intimate Engagement with Trash *Disclaimer: Seth Teitler remains in no way affiliated with this tournament. The date to remember is Saturday, October 19, 2013. Start time is TBA, as is location, but it will likely be 9 or 10 in the McMaster University Student Center (MUSC), which can be located via this map: http://www.mcmaster.ca/welcome/campusmap.cfm. The original announcement for this tournament can be found on this post: here
There will be prizes and Halloween candy (seeing as it's so close to that time!), and please be sure to wear an awesome costume! On top of the regular prizes for winning team and top scorers/neggers (pay close attention to spelling...), we shall award a prize for best costume (as voted by peeps). Our fee structure is as follows:
$25 per player, with the following discounts per team:
-$5 for 100km or more traveled (one-way)
-$5 for a working buzzer system
-$5 for a dedicated staffer
-$5 International discount
Note that that is $25/player, so the minimum price for any-sized team would be $10. Kinda like a side event. However, minimum price for a team of four would be based off of how far the team has traveled, and whatever other discounts they have incurred. Bottom line is that this is a cheap and fun event that you don't want to miss!
To register, send an email to [email protected], and let us know ASAP if you plan on attending so that we can figure out logistics at our end. If we somehow need to cap the field, we'll let y'all know when we do.
Thanks for listening, and have yourselves a very merry Christmas! (I mean, start of semester)

Unilaterally declaring that Waterloo will send at least one team to this. Possibly two.
This is,of course, contingent on Mac's ability to accommodate players being carried around in eggs.

Is this tournament open? Or do you need to be a student to play? If it is open, Guelph will likely send a team.

Looks like this tournament is more popular than I anticipated. Carleton will be sending 7 people to form 2 teams. And we're going to win.

Happy to confirm Waterloo is sending exactly one team to this. Will be bringing one set of buzzers and two dedicated staffers (a friend and me, she can score-keep as I read if that's swaggy with everyone else).

I will also be bringing a team of 3 or 4 from various universities. I have been excommunicated from the two Carleton teams. But not actually.

The tournament will hopefully be starting shortly after 9:30am, though we encourage teams to aim to arrive earlier (preferably ~9am) so that everyone can get organized.

I realize it's pretty late, but would you guys be able to accommodate a second Waterloo team? We've had some sudden expressions of interest in trash-raves.

Our apologies for the lack of notice: effective immediately, we are capping the field at... the number of teams we have now. (Waterloo B, you make the cut.)
If you are planning to bring staffers or buzzers, but have not yet let us know, please send us an email, post in the thread, or otherwise communicate your intentions to us.

A polite note that this set will not be clear after tomorrow, as Macalester will be hosting a mirror in November.
There is a private discussion group that you can join if you have any substantive comments to offer, though at this point, this tournament is a finished product.

Re: McMaster Mirror of "An Intimate Engagement With Trash"
I just wanted to give some recognition to Leslie, who I was informed TDed her first tournament today (edit: yesterday). Despite some strange occurrences that would have tripped up even more experienced TDs, the tournament still managed to run fairly smoothly and it seemed like the overwhelming opinion was that everyone had a lot of fun!

Thanks, though given the various organizational difficulties, I'm not sure that getting all the credit is worth all the blame. :P
If anyone is missing a grey hoodie sweater, it was left behind in one of the rooms and is currently in my possession. Let me know and I'll make sure I bring it to the next convenient tournament.
