ACRONYM Mirror

We, the Macalester College Quiz Bowl team, have been given permission by Erik Nelson to host a mirror of the ACRONYM VIII tournament (see viewtopic.php?f=19&t=16880) on Saturday, March 7th, here at Macalester College (1600 Grand Ave, St. Paul, MN 55105). The gameplay will run from 9 to 4 (with an hour for lunch). After not so lengthy discussion, we have decided to make this an open tournament. Any and all teams that have not played or had a part in editing this year's ACRONYM tournament are eligible and encouraged to join.

We've negotiated a $20 per player registration fee with Erik, though we will deduct $5 dollars from the fee for each buzzer system brought in, as well as $20 per moderator contributed. Cash payment is preferred. If anyone would be interested, please email me at [email protected] with contact info and number of players by midnight of Wednesday, March 4. Our field cap will be 12 teams.

Our team, the Vast Robot Armies of a Woman Scorned, cleared the field at 8-0. Thanks a ton to Macalester for hosting and staffing--this was a really enjoyable event, and other than a hiccup or two in the morning did a lot to restore their reputation as hosts!
