9/19/15 - Unnamed House-Written Tournament at West Point

West Point High School in Cullman, AL will be hosting our first-annual house-written tournament on Sept. 19. We will be shooting for a difficulty level somewhere between NAQT A-series and Regular IS-sets. We will also still be hosting a tournament on NAQT questions in December.

Registration for this event will be $60 per team with a $5 discount per buzzer system per team.

The questions will be power-marked and we will use powers and negs.

Sure. $55 for each additional team.

We will also likely have JV division if there are enough interested JV teams. At the very least, we will give a trophy to the top JV team(s).

James Clemens plans to bring one team and one buzzer system. Can the registration fees be paid onsite on the tournament date?

This annual tournament will now officially be known as SMART (Student-Made Academic Rivalry Tournament).

Here is the up-to-date field. We still have plenty of room for more teams, and I'd love to get up to 30+!

SMART I: Lee Henry's House Party.

As for format, it will be NAQT-style tossups and bonuses, complete with powers and negs.

I will decide whether to do pools, power-matching, etc. when I get a definite number of teams.

I sent all this information to the coaches.

Try to arrive between 8:00 and 8:15. I hope to be playing by 8:30.

I hate trying to estimate when a tournament will end, but we're usually done by 4:00.

Good Hope greatly enjoyed the set and tournament as a whole, and would like to thank you guys. We thought the set was very well written.
