Question providers for TV tournaments
Question providers for TV tournaments
Dear Quiz Community,
I would love your thoughts and advice on what you feel is the better and the not so good question providers for televised quiz tournaments. Our local televised 5 county tournament is searching for new questions providers. I am hoping I can hear from the national quiz community concerning companies they have personally experienced. Any support you have for your opinion is greatly appreciated.
Feel free to PM me if that allows you to feel more comfortable about giving an honest and straightforward answer.
Many thanks,

Re: Question providers for TV tournaments
In my opinion, the format and demands of televised quiz shows makes it nearly impossible to get quality questions, but if you want to improve the show as much as possible with the constraints of the format, NAQT is the way to go. I have not seen any other providers produce anything remotely acceptable for televised quiz shows.quiz4life wrote:Dear Quiz Community,

Re: Question providers for TV tournaments
NAQT produces questions for a number of TV shows across the country and are a high-quality source.

Re: Question providers for TV tournaments
Not only are NAQT questions good, but NAQT is probably the most professional and reliable question writing company in existence.

Re: Question providers for TV tournaments
The only other worthwhile option I can even come up with is HSAPQ, and you'd have to contract with them for a custom set.

Re: Question providers for TV tournaments
If questions are going to be televised (and possibly viewable/streamable over the internet), how does NAQT handle that? Would they have to produce a custom set to prevent access to the questions at other sites?

Re: Question providers for TV tournaments
In general, we instruct hosts of televised tournaments to delay streaming/posting of episodes until the questions involved are clear.

Re: Question providers for TV tournaments
Looking back at my A Team Challenge matches online during 2013 and 2014, those questions are pretty awful. The difficulty range is all over the place with questions on obscure household appliances to George Washington two liners.
