So wait, is Billy Joel being cut completely? This is his signature song, if he's to be included then it would be weird to not use this one.

The Billy Joel pick is presumably Only the Good Die Young. While perhaps not quite as strong as Piano Man, it's still excellent.

Also, as an ex-Catholic, I fully endorse this song.

Only the Good is notably better than Piano Man, but I wouldn't put either in a top 100 of the seventies compilation.

I haven't paid attention to anything here for a while, but the fact that there's a 1970s music something and it isn't heavily dominated by Steely Dan makes me think no one participating knows anything about anything.

Well, I've finally cut down that original massive song of 5000+ or whatever it was to a little over 500 songs, with just one entry per artist.

I should note that I'm cutting out jazz songs for now. That's mainly concerning Miles Davis & Chick Corea; I either already advanced the rest or cut them. I feel like jazz is just a weird mix with what I'm trying to accomplish.

Here's the final list of cuts from this initial list.

I've seeded 130 songs for this. We'll have a bracket of 192, with 64 top seeds getting a bye and their second round opponents determined by a first round of 128 songs.
