I just wanted to put this thread out there since I'd seen a few people talking about where they were going.it's that time of year again where people start to hear back from transfer applications, grad school apps, job offers, landlords, etc. and make plans to go places. Here is a thread in which current college players or members of the college quizbowl community can post where they'll be next. Please post only if you have something definite to share, though that includes things besides "I am going to x and such school for [Degree]"; more general notes on moving to a new metropolitan area as a non-student/non-player/employee interested in continuing to staff or do outreach, etc.
I guess I'll begin by noting that nothing is changing for me...

I will be going to Queen’s University for a one year bachelor of education. It’s not conditional on graduating my masters, but I sure hope I can do so before August, cutting any ties I may still have with Les Chevaliers de McGill.

I graduated from Maryland in December and I've been living in Palo Alto for my full-time job as a software engineer for about a month so far. I'm down to staff local tournaments, though without a car I'll probably need a ride to staff anywhere besides Stanford.

I'm done and will be moving to northern New Jersey. Happy to help out with things in the greater tri-state area as my schedule allows. Given that I won't be in grad school anymore and will be moving from a boarding school to a day school, I should have much more free time than in the past two years.

I have accepted my offer for graduate studies at Penn State. Although I admittedly don't foresee myself as being committed to the point of attending every practice and playing for the A team, I would like to attend practices regularly, help out when needed, and mentor newer team members.

I have elected to continue my academic study of the dismal science by entering a PhD program at UC San Diego. Of course, I will aim to staff events in the area and if UCSD B or C needs a player with sports knowledge and proximate "knowledge" of various other topics including economics, I may play.

I am going to WUStL's Brown School of Social Work to get a 2-year MSW degree. Their program will allow me to reach a years-long dream of being a Professional Person Who Talks About Sex All the Time.
I'm not sure if my program will allow me time to play, study, or travel but I expect that I'll at least be around and showing my lovely face as I staff area events, at minimum.

Continuing my strong tradition of getting degrees from schools that win major NCAA championships, I will be enrolled at UVA starting this fall semester.
I work full time and have a baby and things now, so my availability for quiz bowl will be hit or miss --- but I live in C-ville, so I'm happy to catch up with the UVA program for things when I can.

I'm substantially less relevant than Thatcher (or most everyone else), but I'll be at Duke for the next 4 or 5 years, so let me know if there are big events in the area that might need extra staffers. I can't promise availability (or that I'll be good), but I'd like to stay part of the community, so I'll do what I can.

I'll still be in the Philly area (though I'm moving to the suburbs) and will try to make myself as available as possible to staff events in the area.
I also anticipate continuing to teach courses at Harcum College in the fall and will renew my efforts to found some sort of quizbowl team there in addition to outreach to other CCs and small college programs in the region.
