(See other thread for details about STASH 2020-2021 Mirroring)

Post by The Football War »

Hello everyone, the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (Alexandria, VA) is pleased to announce the Spring TJ Advanced Scholastic Housewrite (STASH), a high school housewrite for the 2019-2020 season. This set is intended to be NATIONALS level difficulty. As both STASH's distribution and difficulty are meant to emulate PACE NSC, we recommend that mirrors are run using the PACE rule set. The questions will be 6-7 lines long in size 10 Times New Roman. The set will consist of 14 packets of 20 powermarked tossups and 20 bonuses plus a tiebreaker packet.

Writers and Editors

Writing for this set are Stefan Calin, Justin Chen, Sathya Gnanakumar, Pratyush Jaishankar, Elliot Lee, Anuraag Kaashyap, Vishal Kanigicherla, Vance Kreider, Joshua Lian, Prithvi Nathan, Sohom Paul, Karthik Prasad, William Wang, Ryan Xu, and Kevin Zhang, all on the current TJ Quizbowl team.

Our head editor for this set is Will Alston (Columbia), who will also be editing Modern World. Our current subject editors are: Michael Yue (Harvard, editing Auditory and Other Fine Arts as well as Science), Grant Li (UChicago, editing Visual Fine Arts and Literature), James Malouf (Berkeley, editing History), Dan Ni (Cornell, also editing Science), Ankit Aggarwal (editing RM), and Jack Mehr (editing PSS).

Distribution

4/4 Literature (1/1 American, 1/1 British, 1/1 European, 1/1 World)
4/4 History (1/1 American, 1/1 European/British, 1/1 World, 0.5/0.5 Ancient, 0.5/0.5 Miscellaneous)
4/4 Science (1/1 Biology, 1/1 Chemistry, 1/1 Physics, 1/1 Other)
3/3 Fine Arts (1/1 Visual, 1/1 Auditory, 1/1 Other)

1.5/1.5 Modern World (0.5/0.5 Geo, 0.5/0.5 Current Events, 0.5/0.5 Mixed Academic)

Mirroring
We have written about 90% of the set. We expect the set to be complete and ready for mirroring by March 28th. The mirror fee is $25/team attending (including house teams).
If you are interested in mirroring the set, or have any questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Hello Everyone,

Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak and a lot of mirror cancellations, we have decided to make STASH available for mirroring through the summer and into the fall. We foresee this set filling the slot of an easy summer open to run, and are open to having tournaments running on both high school and collegiate fields.
