Terrapin Open at Toronto (3/29/2020) (CANCELLED)

I'm pleased to announce that the University of Toronto Academic Trivia Club will be holding the Eastern Canadian mirror of Terrapin Open on Sunday, March 29, following the main site of Canadian Hybrid the previous Saturday. Because of room booking incentives, I will provisionally cap the field at 6 teams, which is the maximum number of teams the Nats prep open has traditionally attracted in Canada. If you are not a team that typically plays this tournament in Canada and would like to play, please get in touch with me soon to let me know and we can likely figure out a way to expand the field. Pleased note that this date was changed from March 22nd.

Logistics
The tournament will begin or before 9:30 am in Sidney Smith Hall, 100 St. George St. We will begin on time although because of room booking constraints we may have to take 10 minutes to set up buzzers first. Please arrive by 9 am.

Eligibility
This is an open tournament, meaning that all players all eligible to play.

Fees and Payment
The fee schedule for this tournament is as follows (all prices in CAD):

Base price: $140
Shorthanded discount: $20 per missing player
Travel discount: $5 per 200km traveled, stacking by player, maximum discount $40
Buzzer discount: $10
Staffer discount: $15
Minimum payment: $70
Unaffiliated staffers will be given $15 in lunch money.
Payment by e-transfer to [email protected] is preferable, although cash will also be accepted.
