Fantasy SNL: Season 8

Post by OctagonJoe »

Welcome back, sports fans!

A new season of Saturday Night Live of course means a new season of fantasy SNL. This season's sponsor is last year's CO Trash. Last year's CO Trash: Never forget that this tournament happened.

The teams are still the same as they always have been: Team Gehring, Team Cheyne, and Maryland B. These three teams draft players before every episode, with teams this season comprising five players each. RoboBo gets the scraps, which will be the six players remaining after the draft. If you would like to be included in FSNL draft e-mails, please send your résumé and any other relevant documents to Naveed. The rules for scoring are inscrutable and best not dwelled upon.

Week 1 already happened, so let's dive in.

Most Valuable Player -- Ego Nwodim
Ego Nwodim may have played A Black Woman Who's Been Missing for Ten Years, but she showed that last year's strong showing (top 5 scorer, and a fair chunk ahead of number 6) was not a fluke. Nwodim appeared only four times, but she made every appearance count.

Most Improved Player -- James Austin Johnson
After a dreadful season last year in which he scored 0 points, James Austin Johnson clearly made some improvements to his game during the offseason.

Least Valuable Player -- Kate McKinnon
Kate McKinnon did not appear in the episode.

Note that Carsten actually had the #1 pick in this draft, which scored 0 points. Is this Matt Millen-levels of bumbling?

Due to a cleric error, the gods decided to not allow stats to be posted for the last two weeks.

Most Valuable Player -- James Austin Johnson
James Austin Johnson came out swinging in the Cold Open, landing a plush 5 points right off rip with a split LFNY with the host. His 12 points weren't bad for a player selected 13th in the week's draft.

Most Improved Player -- Kyle Mooney
Kyle Mooney finally got his bounceback episode after being betrayed by his former partner's heel turn at the end of last season. Will he be able to sustain the Big Mo now that he's got it?

Least Valuable Player -- Kate McKinnon
Kate McKinnon did not appear in the episode.
