The 2022 Jesse Brown Small School Showcase

Post by Scottietodd »

Hello all,
I am just putting this on here so we can link statistics.
This Saturday (day after tomorrow) January 29th will see the Third Annual Jesse Brown Small School Showcase hosted by Glasgow High School in Glasgow, Kentucky.

The Jesse Brown is a per invitation only event for small schools designed as traditional public using NAQT guidelines and is a free event providing for lodging, food and fund by major sponsors. Between 10 and 18 teams will be invited each school years contingent on funding and sponsorship.

Schools are invited based on guidelines such as annual tradition of excellence and history at SSNCT, high quality performance and involvement during the past season bringing several players forward, high quality performance during the current competitive year, and outreach.

This year's invitees and acceptees include:
Cloverleaf, Ohio
Coalgate, Oklahoma
Danville, Kentucky
Edmonson County, Kentucky
Glasgow, Kentucky
Hallsville, Missouri
Itawamba, Mississippi
Ottawa Hills, Ohio
Pettisville, Ohio
Southwestern, Illinois
Westmont, Illinois
West Point, Alabama

We try to play this event just like SSNCT, with timed halfs, but this year are going to play 8 rounds reading all 24 question cycles. Five rounds of preliminary pool play following by top 3 and bottom 3 crossover playoffs. The set being used is IS-208.

Teams that are interested in future JBSSS may feel free to contact me at [email protected] any time. The competition will always be held on the Saturday closest to February 1st. Lodging, Saturday breakfast and lunch are provided. No fee to play.
