Announcement: TRASH Regionals 2006/TRASHionals 2007 dates

Post by colonial »

Apologies for the multiple postings...

TRASH is pleased to announce the dates for 2006 Regionals and 2007 TRASHionals!

TRASH Regionals 2006 will be held the weekend of November 10-11, 2006 at sites across the United States and Canada. If you are interested hosting a TRASH Regional, e-mail me at [email protected]

TRASH Regionals tournaments make excellent fundraisers for QB teams!

TRASHionals X, the 10th TRASHionals championship, is scheduled for the weekend of April 20-21, 2007 at a site TBD. If you are interested in hosting TRASHionals, e-mail me at the same address.

TRASH Regionals 2006 - New Regional Coordinator

Post by colonial »

As I mentioned last week, I'm retiring as TRASH Business Manager.

However, I will remain with TRASH as a writer, treasurer and goodwill ambassador.

TRASH has opted to get rid of the Business Manager position, instead splitting the roles I did among several people.

Among the new roles is Regional Coordinator, who is Mark Coen. Here's Mark's first message as TRASH RC...

As part of our reorganization at TRASH, I've been tapped to
coordinate the 2006 regionals, coming the weekend of November 10-11.

And in the interest of getting them to come to a campus near you,
I'd like to reiterate the call for regional hosts. If you're free
that weekend, and would be interested in hosting a regional
tournament, please drop me a line at mcoen_bu at yahoo dot com. I
know many folks have already headed out for the summer, but wanted
to get one more request out there.

For those of you who have already contacted James Dinan about this,
I'll be getting your information shortly. You don't have to contact
me, but if you'd like to please feel free. That goes for anyone
with questions about regionals.

Thanks,

Mark

So, whats the deal with specifics/sites etc? I've already had a few random trash dinosaurs contacting me asking if I knew where TRASH regs are occuring etc. Now, with it only a couple of months away, and IO announced as well, I am just wondering what the deal is for those of us who would like the information.

Mid-Atlantic?

Post by btressler »

Does anyone know if there's going to be a Mid-Atlantic site for TRASH regionals (and on what date)?

A response would be appreciated, as it affects a decision I think I have to make this week.

Mid-Atlantic TRASH Regional?

Post by sobek22 »

I have to second what Bill wrote here -- are we going to have a Mid-Atlantic TRASH Regional, and if so, where?

Thanks,
Adam

I don't know if our team officers have responded to Mark as of yet... (I've directed my team president's attention to it). If they have and If we're drafted @ GW (If they haven't mailed Mark to volunteer, I won't volunteer them without their input.) we'll be facing a couple of challenges :

1) The students have never run a tourney before -- dauting task, thanks to the size of the Mid-Atlantic tourney.
2) While we do have a number of friends and alumni (you included in the former, Adam), this is the tourney we MD/GW elders all tend to want to play, rather than officiate.

I would take it Casey would have pounced on it already if Md. wanted to host.

Have there been any other offers from potential hosts?

So is the above message saying GW is going to host a mid atlantic trash regionals? I've read through it several times and I can't figure out what it's saying.

No. No... The above rambly message means that:

1) I've forwarded Mark Coen's "seeking hosts" email to my team president.
2)I don't know if my team has acted on it yet. If we have, I don't know if we have a a hosting nod, and I'm not going to volunteer them for one without consulting the team.
3) If we somehow have a hosting nod, there are some challenges.

I was also wondering who in the area, if any had asked to host. TRASH just can't say, "here, you host... " without willing teams to volunteer to host the shindig.
