CMST II Online Playtest Mirror (11/12-3/22)

Post by jmarvin_ »

EDIT: We are looking for volunteers to playtest questions in whichever category you would like, and can work out whatever time and date for doing so. If you are interested in hearing questions from one or more categories and sharing feedback, get in contact with me and/or the subject editors and we will find a time to run through them with you.

We will be running an playtest mirror of CMST II on either 11/12 or 11/13, whichever wins the above poll. We aim to test 11 packets, with the format to be determined by number of players/"teams." You can sign up here, including if you'd like to volunteer to staff. Feel free to mark on said sheet if you absolutely cannot make it one of the two days.

Some discussion on the discord suggests this might be worth clarifying: "format to be determined by level of interest" includes running this as less of a proper tournament-like "mirror" and more of a concerted question test with committed players, if there are, say, under a dozen people interested. If you are planning to staff an in-person mirror and would like to try out some of the questions, feel free to sign up!

Also, if anyone with experience running Discord events (and especially Discord playtests) would be willing to facilitate the logistics of this, it would be much appreciated as none of us have done so before. If it makes the difference between nobody volunteering and someone with the relevant skills being willing, I would gladly pay a reasonable amount for your efforts. This will of course not be necessary if we end up having to go with the small format, where only one person is needed to read at a given time, and managing discussion channels will be straightforward enough.

As there is not enough interest to run a full playtesting mirror, we are now soliciting playtesters for any and all specific categories to test any and only questions you are interested in. We will work with anyone interested and find times to run through the questions, preferably simultaneously if schedules allow. Get in contact with me and/or one of the other category editors if you are interested - we are looking forward to your input!
