RESULTS: Fall Tournament (12/1 -12/2) @ UF (Gainesville, FL)

Post by kelli »

The University of Florida will be hosting it's annual Fall High School Tournament this year Dec. 1-2. Once again, we will have teams competing in upper and lower divisions. Players who are freshmen or sophomores are eligible to play in Division II, while anyone may play in Division I. The two divisions will compete separately and separate prizes will be awarded to the winners of Divisions I and II. This year's tournament will tentatively be capped at 44 teams– 28 teams in Division I and 16 teams in Division II. As moderators and rooms are confirmed, further teams may be able to register. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

The registration fee will be $85.00 per team with the following adjustments: $10.00 discount per fully functional buzzer system, $10.00 discount for a second team, and $25.00 additional if you wish to purchase a copy of all of the rounds used in the tournament. The minimum fee is $55/team.

This year we are really emphasizing quality questions that will be difficult enough for Division 1 players, but accessible to Division II players. I know the tournament is many months away, but I am looking forward to seeing all the teams compete. If you have any questions about the tournament, email me at [email protected]. There will be more detailed information posted in the next few months.

Thanks,

The UF Fall High School Tournament is now under new management. All the important information, such as the time and place, is still the same, but now please send all questions to me at [email protected] with a subject line that specifies that you have a quizbowl related email. I look forward to hearing from everyone who can attend.

If you reach 40+ D1 teams, the top 8 D1 schools receive automatic bids.
