Prison Bowl XV (HS Regs+)

Post by krbm17 »

Hunter College High School is thrilled to announce the fifteenth iteration of our annual housewritten set, Prison Bowl! The set will be available for mirrors beginning the weekend of March 25th, 2023, and throughout the rest of 2023 and early 2024. If you are interested in mirroring the set or have any questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

Prison Bowl XV will be a regs+/nats- set with 13 packets each consisting of 20 power-marked tossups and 20 bonuses. Each packet will additionally feature an extra tiebreaker tossup and bonus. Each tossup will be 550-650 characters long and each full bonus will consist of at most 8 lines in 10 point Times New Roman font.

While this set will include many answerlines within Quiz Bowl’s traditional “canon,” it will also include original common-link questions, descriptive answerlines, cross-categorical/interdisciplinary questions, and questions focusing on knowledge acquired from personal interaction and experience. We hope that these non-conventional questions will challenge both new and experienced players, and allow all to have fun and find new inspiration to learn more.

Each packet will have the following distribution:

4/4 Literature
> 1/1 American
> 1/1 British (not including Commonwealth)
> 1/1 European and Russian
> 1/1 World and Ancient/Classical
4/4 History

3/3 Fine Arts
> 1/1 Painting and Sculpture
> 0.5/0.5 Other Visual (including Architecture, Photography, Film, Dance, Performance, Decorative, and Design)
> 1/1 Classical Music
> 0.5/0.5 Other Auditory (including Opera, Jazz, Musicals, and World Music)
2.2/2.2 RMP
