Human vs. AI Scrimmage (@ UMD-CP and Online: May 19, 20, or 21)

Post by ezubaric »

As part of our Natural Language Processing course at the University of Maryland, we've put together human vs. computer question answering competitions as part of the final for our course. You can check out some of those here:

This year we're doing something a little different! The students have *written* questions (don't worry, we gave them lots of instructions, edited the questions, and removed the truly bad ones from the pool). They wrote the questions to be ones that humans could answer but computers could not. However, to actually give them a grade, we need to see if smart humans (like you) can actually answer the questions. We’ll also show you how the AI gets them wrong (at least if the students did their jobs right).

It should be fun, and I hope some of you can join! We'll show you how computers answer the questions, and we'll give a small prize to the human who gets the most questions right. To sign up, please fill out this form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... w/viewform

We have an in-person option for DC area folks and Zoom options for everybody else.
