MRNA II at Imperial College London, 17 June

Post by Oscario »

Happy to announce that Imperial will be hosting the (slightly belated) UK mirror of MRNA II: The Second Dose on Saturday 17th of June. MRNA II is a medium difficulty (2-dot) tournament, and this mirror will be closed to student teams only.

There is a hard field cap of 16 due to room availability, although the final cap will likely be lower than this. The sign-up form for teams can be found here, and the sign-up form for moderators is here. The sign-up deadline is 23:59 on Monday 12th of June.

The base fee for the tournament is £85 per team, with a £5 discount for each working buzzer set, a £10 discount for each team having to travel more than 200 km to attend, and a £25 discount for each team bringing a moderator.

The tournament will be held in the Blackett Laboratory, on the north-west corner of Imperial's South Kensington campus. The nearest Tube stations are Gloucester Road and South Kensington, both ~10-15 minutes away on foot. On-site parking will not be available due to an event being held on Exhibition Road.

Gregor Wilson will be the tournament director, but please direct any queries to myself or the Imperial Quiz Society at quiz >!at!< imperial.ac.uk.

Field list (correct as of 10 June):
Birmingham
Cambridge A
Cambridge B
Durham
Edinburgh
Imperial A
Imperial B
KCL-UCL chimera
Oxford
Sheffield A
Sheffield B
Sheffield C
Warwick A
Warwick B

Stats are up: https://hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/8211

The overrunning of the tournament meant that it finished on a tie. The final between Cambridge A and Imperial A will be played via Zoom on Tuesday at 6 pm BST.
